Agree with KC's on Thain, plus good beer. Might want to look at Cafe Reuben on 7th (by the college) for lunch too, they do burger & beer for $12.

Want to do a meet n greet?

PuttAlong wakes me at 5am this morning and says let ride. We made it to the top of Lick Fork, back on the Peola Road, and get Patty to work at her desk before 8am this morning.

On the bikes again this morning at 5:30am for another nice two hour loop. Up McCormack Ridge Rd to the town of Forrest and return to Lewiston by way of down Webb Ridge Rd. Cool up on top and turned the heated grips on for a few minutes. A nice way to start the day.

Does anyone here know of a bypass from the LOlo motorway past the fire closure on US12? It's closed from mp 31 sleeman Creek rd to mp 16, graves Creek rd.

Bypass would need to be north of 12.

    Thanks

We will be coming from the Montana side and need to get through the hwy 12 closure. I think Wansfel's route or some variation will work.

I rode that whole section right next to the Clark Fork from Missoula coming back to CDA, ID one year and enjoyed it.

Sunday we jumped on the bikes and headed South staying at the Gateway just passed the Snake River (about 20ish miles from Cambridge, ID... met up with the doc and his wife as they caged down as he brought all of his camera equipment... this is one of his pictures). Monday morning we were at an elevation of about 4000 feet on FS ground (no one there until a couple of minutes before the event and another car showed up). I have experienced partial sun eclipse before but a total is completely different. We could even see solar flares during the total eclipse, it got cool in temperature we could see stars. It was an event that everyone should experience at least once in his or her lifetime. I want to say it was a spiritual event but I don't know how to explain that. I know I felt different after watching the eclipse. I think the best part is what is called the "diamond ring" when the ring around the sun can be seen but the moon just move a bit and allows the sun to shine like this photo. Honestly, pictures do not give it justice.

I went to Cascade, Idaho. Excellent conditions, and I got to see the things I wanted to see: Bailey's Beads, the diamond ring, the coronasphere (with binos) and the shadow ripples. Damndest thing I've seen, and I'm 60.
Want to go Texas in 2024 now.

We rode from a COG rally at Colville to south of Council and stayed at a friends house on Sun. so we could see the eclipse. It was pretty cool. I saw the one in 1979 also. I wouldn't go to Texas to see anything.

If anyone is riding the LOlo motorway in the near future please PM me for a hopeful pick up of some gear at Indian Post office.

    Thanks

A guy I work with is going to be hunting up in there somewhere in the next few weeks. I am thinking about riding it about the first of October if the weather cooperates.
