I haven't thought much about where to go. It seems like we always find something exciting to do.

    Should I plan on Sun.?

Yes, Sunday it is. We haven't been on Road 500 this year or maybe the road that runs between the Snake and Salmon Rivers and drops down into Riggins. I'm getting ready to head out for the day and will check this post tonight.

Lets do the ridge between the Snake and Salmon. I'll meet you at the Dynamart at 8:00.

    Anyone else interested?

Lets meet at Gibbs Eddy instead. I hate riding 95. We can ride 12 to Greer and then take the old Greer Grade to Nez Perce.

Why don't you cruise by the Dynamart at 8:00 to see if anyone is there and I'll meet you at Gibbs Eddy about 8:15.

We might also consider going over Freeze Out to Avery. We can decide when you get there and we can go either direction.

Since March we have trying to get out every week on Saturday or Sunday for an adventure ride. Sunday's ride I believe was the best so far this year with spectacular views of the Snake and Salmon River Gorges. It felt like we were just a stones throw from the Seven Devils, Buffalo Hump and Gospels The ride was 300+ miles and 12+ hours in the saddle and well worth it. We rode a lot dirt and gravel and some pavement riding Idaho's back country. We also didn't really run across anyone in our travels. The weather on top was cool and with the recent rain the dust was minimum. I took several pictures but they don't really do justice to the beautiful scenery. Very grateful for this beautiful area of the country that we live in. Thanks Sorebutt for the great ride.

First time post but I've been watching and learning a lot from you guys about adventure riding in our area. We're you riding Joseph Plains? Did that route a month ago and it was gorgeous country. Spent Saturday riding the Elk City Wagon Road, where my great grandad used to hall freight, and it was perfect temp and no dust with the recent rains.
Hope to hook up with you guys one of these days so I can put faces to names and take in a few rides. Graduated my twins this year from high school so will need some fun to replace all those ball games I'll be missing.
I'll try to post some pics soon but one thing at a time!

No where else can you ride the 2 deepest cayons on the continent in one day. It was really beautiful. It will be hard to top that ride.

We find ourselves traveling through Nezperce quite often in our travels, do please join us. I was raised in Nezperce until our family moved to Lewiston when I was ten. My dad owned the dry goods store on main street. I also have some interesting family history on the camas prairie.

Still keeping an eye on this thread - still hoping to join you all for a ride one of these days.

I have never actually been to Nezperce, but my great-grandfather helped rescue a steam locomotive there a long time ago. Have been meaning to go check it out and retrace the steps.

Good to here from all of you local riders. Hopefully we'll get some opportunity to swap stories about this part of the country before long. Amazing how many people that have roots to the little town of Nezperce.
I rode a little enduro when I was younger but hadn't been on a bike for 30 years until last year when I decided to get back into it. I forgot just how much fun it is! I've lived in this area virtually my whole life but I've seen more new places in the last year on my bike than I'd seen in the last 20 years. I'm feeling fortunate to live so close to so much beautiful country. Not regretting a bit buying my adventure bike versus a cruiser like some of my friends have. They are missing all the good places!

I am contemplating an overnight ride about 250 miles to the South over this weekend, leaving Saturday and coming back Sunday evening, maybe even Monday , probably down through Idaho and back up through eastern Oregon. Very little set in stone at this time. Mostly pavement, leaning towards a motel, not camping.
    Anyone interested, PM me?

I'd like to go with you, but I'm doing the Montana 1000 for the next week. I'm learning some new places to ride.

Anyone up for a ride this weekend? I'm looking to leave around noon on Friday and return midafternoon Monday. Route is still up in the air, thinking of heading north, probably camping. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Jim I hope you are doing a lot better.:huh
I figured I would move your Montana 1000 post over to the Palouse thread in case anyone else was wondering what had happened to you.
