PD forks

    93 PD forks work well for riding, very supple, good control. They suck for stopping. Way too much fork compression. Does anyone have a favorite blend of weights and volumes for each leg that would work for a flyweight? 165#. Don't want to go racetech yet until I've exhausted all stock options. Thanks, Doug

    I owned a PD for about a decade. But that ended about 2000. 1) First get some progressive springs. The difference is staggering. 2) figure out which fork dampens which way. One does it on compression, one on the rebound. I was happy with 15 weight in both, but some run 15 in one fork 20 or 10 in the other. Dave

    my poor mans solution is to fill the tank up completely and always keep it full. The combintation of my 250+ lean body and extra fuel weight helps sag the front end. Yeah, I know, silly, but works.

    Ya just got to learn to get a bit smoother - riding the thing on slippery gravel roads will soon learn ya .

    Or just get a sports road bike with stiff forks - kinda silly to get a all roads bike then complain aout the all roads suspension ---.

    I've experimerted with 10 and 15 wt Bel Ray and went back to to 7.5

    On rough pavement, on curves, with 15 wt the front did not track well as it was skipping over and not following the bumps.

    I like the soft front, and disagree that hard is always better for susupensions especially for paved but rough roads.

    With no emulators and stock springs the stock GS Marzocchi fork just works better with the 7.5 wt.
