I'm late out this morn too. See you at 11.30 in Scappoose, Mat.
For a rough track of places we were today. Further out than I'd thought.
Anyone up for a ride tomorrow.
That's the plan. Where do we want to go? I keep thinking I'm going to get sick of Scappoose, but we keep finding more cool stuff out there! I'm open to other directions.
I WAS up for riding tomorrow, but I got roped into helping a friend replace the headliner in his jeep, which turned into a 5 hour torture fest, and my neck is TOAST. Maybe if we get a little bit later in-the-morning start I would be game... We don't *have* to do the 'poose.
How about we start out at 10:00ish. I do not know of any other areas other than 'poose or Browns so I am open to anything.
You thinking 10, maybe 11 am?
Yes, earlier is OK, but fog may be an issue.
Any of you guys do some riding up out of McMinnville/Carlton? I have a loop from Carlton over to just south of Tillamook then down to Pacific City and back to Carlton that I want to do once more before there is too much snow. Knobbies not required but HIGHLY recommended.
If we want close in, I'm thinking Jones Creek (last weekend open) or Scappoose.
If you want to ride a little more slab, Maybe Hood River or Beacon Rock areas.
Sounds better than my ideas
Carlton sound good. I,m in..
Where:? somewhere downtown or westside?
I can't ride Saturday but if anybody wants to meet for a Sunday ride I'm pretty much free all day. We usually meet at the Carlton meat packing plant and head up.
10600 NW Westside Rd
Carlton, OR 97111
My normal route takes me on about half gravel and half pavement but we can mix in a bunch of trails if people are up to it.
Sunday is out for me, so 10:00 at Grand Central and we decide from there..most likely Skappoose.
That was a fun ride, Squirrels and mtbdemon!
E showed us what new 606's can do:
I show that even 606's couldn't get me up this steep, rutted hill. Edit: Actually that looks like E. We got him pushed up the second half, but then had no strength left when it came my turn -- i.e, I couldn't make it up either.
Yeah, you'd think Scappoose would get old, but we kept finding new places to explore.
I guess a little mud doesn't bother the GPS tracker:
Kind of looks like I'm tipping over here, but I did manage to not slide out:
Just back from Jones Creek with Squirrels, did loop C. Got to be the muddiest 23 miles I have ever ridden. Single track all the way, what a blast. Glad we went as it closes next week. Squirrels will post some pics later.
I am real glad I didn't go then. My sore shoulders, neck, and back wouldn't have been up for that!
Can't wait to see pics!
