I'm on my way.
son fo a bitch...
i even brought my camera so i could go after i get out of work today. it's about 30 min away from me with traffic.
how do you people have time during the week to go so far to get these?
and yes, i'm just bitter because i knew what it was from the pic but second guessed myself because of the clues.
yes it is. i still don't get the 1779 clue, but based on the other 2 it has to be.
and since you are in glen mills you are closer than me.
Got it; but forgot the cable to download from camera to laptop. Gotta rush home before I get Bruced
The colonial Pennsylvania plantation in Ridley Creek State Park. The sign says Media,PA ; but I think it's actually in Gradyville,PA.
I hadn't snagged a PA tag in quite a while; then this one pops up less than 15 miles from my home. I thought for sure Sloburban would beat me to it.
New tag shortly.
Here's the new tag:
Construction of this very old house was begun in the mid 1600's. The original owner was an ancestor of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
so how does 1779 play into it?
I didn't think he took it that far south so I didn't even look at Ridley till he gave the second clue.
Funny thing is, Ridley is like 5 min from Slo's house
figured it out. i like the way the clues were set-up.
heading out after work to get it unless someoen posts it before I leave.
come on 7:00! lol
1779 is just a reference to the colonial period. The flag visible in the original tag is known as the "Betsy Ross Flag," and debuted during the Revolutionary War (1775-1783).
It's impossible to attach a single date to that place however, because they also host civil war reenactments (1861-1865) and "Medieval Days," (WTF?)
Because the place has the word "colonial" in it's name, I tried to direct you to that period, even though googling the date would not yield results for the tag location. I was hoping someone would make the connection and know about the park.
The second clue was particularly google-friendly.
Hey Knightofni, if we were good friends I would wait until 7:05 to post this and just laugh at you knowing you were going for the tag
Your photo with your reflection in the mirror should be submitted here.
I think it really captures the lure/theme of ADVrider.
I shoulda checked the thread before the beers. Could have made in there in about 30 minutes. Oh, well, now that the tags are close by, I will pay better attention.
Good grab Sloburban, at the Morton Homestead
Here's the historical marker from the Morton Homestead. It's on Rt.420 just north of I-95 in Prospect Park.
That makes up for your missing Ridley Creek State Park.
I just got back from cutting 2 lawns. I'm dirty, sweaty and tired. Was gonna get a shower and call it a night. Then I check and see where you put the new tag(how far is that from your house? 1/2 mile?) Should I head back out on the bike?
and if we were good friends i'd still punch you in the arm.
we got out a bit early today. i should have checked the thread before i left.
i guess it was your tracks i saw in the grass
I had a feeling i had gotten bruced
i'm 0/2 in 3 days with this game.
yeah, 1/2 mile from my house. Limited amount of time and I wanted to keep the game moving.
and i'm off to get bruced for a 3rd time!
this time i'm making sure i have a battery in my cam that's charged.
I saw tracks in the grass too. I thought for sure someone beat me to the tag also but it must have been cyclejon's tracks
