Waited a while then purchased a heavily modded DRZ, which I loved, then picked up an 07 450EXC. I hated it at first, but my friend cahoona7 hooked me up with proper suspenders, so all is good. Only ridden a few hours with new shoes and suspension, but really like it now. Still have SE and GS.

No time to ride until after April 9th, then ready to ride this summer.

    Cool.
Morris has invited Roy, Melvin and me to his place in northern Georgia for a week of dual sporting in the tri-state area the middle of April.
I'll be dusting the spider webs off the DRZ tomorrow and prepping it a bit for that ride.

Debating on buying Dirt Bagz, Rolie Bags or maybe the Giant Loop thing cause we'll be doing several overnight trips away from Morris's cabin and need to tote extra stuff.
    Gotta decide quick.

    Thanks Shaun,
Suppose to have a group huddle and I'm gonna pin Morris down about how long we'll be away from base camp (1 night...2? ) and that will help me decide.

If its just some overnight loops, then back to base amp then I should be fine with just a few items.

Thanks for the offer and I just may ask you to use it.

No problem. They are kind of spendy so I'd rather try before I buy- though I don't even do that with bikes, so I wouldn't take my word for it :lol3

It's a quality piece of kit, and I'd buy another based on my use so far:freaky

    Thanks Vic!

No campin. Traveling lite. I imagine if I take a couple pairs of panties, a toothbrush and some socks then I'll do OK. Still gotta get the lowdown from Morris.

On another note, Reggie just sent me this.
Its our ride in Cheaha when Apperson bought that new 690 with 0 miles and thrashed it immediately.:lol3
Kentuck doesn't look that bad on this movie that Reggie made:

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/UTSB5I3cqTI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Maybe it ain't that bad, but when a dozen or so people have spent a bundle on showing up for a ride that's nearly 300 miles away,,,,then its sure good when nobody gets badly hurt.
Certainly no time for racing since it ruins everyones day when there's a injury.

Been a while Dirty! Weather's looking good and with the recent rain, conditions should be just about perfect. Unfortunately Uncle Bill's is closed as Rick pointed out, so we'll need an alternate plan for lunch. Heard from Dan W, he may show up on his TransAlp.

For those who missed todays ride, how about tomorrow.

FBM and Myself are going to meet n00b at Mickeys for breakfast at about 830AM and then head up to Karick Lake for Blackwater ride.

All are welcome. Apperson may join us.

Let me know if you need to change meet time.

Super ride. Took like 3 photos. Might find motivation to post later :drink

TT survived, yet again. Muffler doesn't like attaching itself to the pipe, so will have to fix that. Also, using shop rags for fork seals is not a great performance improvement. Whoops.

Good times. Hope to join again. Next time might bring the new (to me) orange bike.

Just remember; the only people cheaper than KLR riders are TT500 riders.

Eight riders met at Hutton on a beautiful day for a little sightseeing. We did about 80 miles of mixed terrain, had lunch at the Gator Cafe and most importantly, no carnage. Some of these guys were on street tires too.

Sure was good to ride with ya again Robin! Thanks for leading us around the forest, Barney--that was a fantastic route and included a lot of what I call Blackwater's Greatest Hits. Motomike drove all the way from Marianna for this ride, and he said it was worth the trip.:thumb

8 riders on bikes ranging from a '78 TT500 to a '90 Transalp to an '08 KLR, and nobody dropped their bike once. Dang man, I'm impressed! Had a great time following y'all around BW...let's do it again!:clap
