Was the time when I rode rain or shine... but I just felt like this was one of those days when I should stay at home...

    Its still pouring over here.

I talked to Orange Garret and he said Mike was there so at least two showed up to brave the elements.

    Tell us how it went....

Riding in the rain in hot weather = WIN!

Riding in the rain in cold weather = FAIL!

It has been pretty nice weather over here in Pensacola...partly cloudy, occasional light rain. Based on the radar, it looks like Hutton is right on the edge of showers. Just ordered my new clutch lever...we'll have to see how long it takes to get here before I can ride again :(:.

Vic, got your voice mail. Thanks for the heads up. Will call you later. Gimme showed up at the house just after you called so we went to Brox for 35 miles of fun. No rain and more than 50% was all new to us. OG lead us to a couple new trails a few weeks ago and we just kept wondering around. Lots of goggle cleaning due to low hanging branches but we had fun.

Any change we can start working details for Timberlake on Sunday if the weather works out? I don't have any tracks so will need a guide.

    Enjoy the 4th all.

Well, looks like most of the ladies got their panties in a wad today. Somehow Motomike and I managed to get ours untangled. Left out @ 830 for a wonderful 75.8 miles into the "abyss and mysterious caverns of Blackwater forest" or something like that. Got a few sprinkles here and there but no rain. Mike had his torque monster 600r and I was on the trusty 400drz (mini thumper) both had 4 gallons on board so we didn't care when we got to wherever we were going. Rode fast @ times and slow and easy other times. Hell, we even rode some wheelies over the humps (just for you Papawheelie) and didn't blow any O-rings or anything else for that matter. Mike is a great guy, really enjoyed meeting him. Thanks for a fun run. Sorry you guys missed out, next time..........

Ride with Garrett was a good one. Was a little worried after getting there, but he was all in, and so was I. Had some tracks from last ride I did with Barney, so we managed to piece together a decent ride and go looking at some new areas too.

Despite our monsoon season, not a ton of big puddles, except one or two we had to forge. Good mix of terrain from slick clay, wet sand, mud, grass, gravel, and that prehistoric gray stuff that is slick as ice. Made braking down hill into some corners a little fun, especially on the XR6.

As usual, good fun in blackwater. Will try and make it one more time this summer before school year kicks in. Garett was great to ride with and a good adver. Look forward to more rides.

She's registered and plated, got the damper, hand guards and battery swapped and have two rides I the books. Its geared at 13/52 and I swapped the rear to 51 to test on Sunday.

Gimmee hooked me up with a Golan and I have to check a rocker arm pivot. Something about an upside down "dot". Maybe some Rekluse adjustment as well.

My big take a way so far is it's much more planted to the ground, very confidence inspiring. Very fast.

    Cool -

The upside down rocker are was for the early model 500s. I checked mine and it was ok but its worth it to pull the valve cover and make sure. Hell slip a feeler gage under the valves while you have it down...

The hardest part (takes the most time) is getting the friggin right side bolts out the valve cover...rest is easy. Let me know if you need help or pointers.

Had a great time riding with you all today. 7 of us all on KTM's ventured out from Timberlake in near ideal conditions. Sand was perfect and no dust, even though everyone was struggling to keep the front end straight in the wet stuff. All in all it was super fun, hope we get another break in the heat this summer so we can do it again.

Had a good old fashion FASTBURN today with 7 skilled riders.

Dr Philgood played with his new camera and I did some quick editing. Gives you and idea of what at fastburn ride is all about.

    From Todd:

Hey everyone, we are working hard here at BMW & Moto Guzzi of Pensacola to become not just another run of the mill motorcycle dealership. Our goal is to make our shop, your shop. A place to hang out and enjoy the company of other liked minded riders while at the same time being offered the best possible sales & service we can provide you. That said we are holding a "Moto Guzzi" Open House this Saturday July 13th from 0900-1500. We will have test rides on new California Custom 1400 and the V7 racer, in addition to all the other Guzzi models on the showroom floor. Patralla's famous Lasagna will be for lunch and we are giving away a Helmet and a few other things for door prizes.

    Thanks r/Tod
