Hey everybody, just relocated to Valparaiso, FL from the so calif desert and looking to get some riding in before it heats up. I've got a '13 ktm xc-w that I plan to get plated shortly. I know nothing about the local area and am interested to see what the huge Eglin range has to offer. :muutt

    Cheers

I are planning on going tomorrow. I just got a new back tire and new rear brakes. After the mud bath last time, I am ready to try some on the dry side.... :D

And I do plan on racing next weekend too... It will be my first harscramble :) I will be just happy to finish.

As soon as you get a plate and a Rage Permit your world opens up. Welcome to the PAR site.

Please refer to Post #2 for info on meeting places, types if rides, etc. That post is designed to answer most n00b questions.

Hope you like sand. You will see some around here.:evil

Stay tuned and jump in on the forum. You might look back at some of the videos for an idea of the types of rides.

    Again welcome aboard...

The videos will not do you any justice. It looks straight and boring, but much different when your out there. But as Vic said you will get the idea.
Deep sand, ruts, roots, washouts, some jumps, creeks, single track stuff (location classified), we just don't have much elevation change..
Again, welcome, we have all ages and skill levels represented. You will enjoy the PAR folks..
And we have a rather large contingent of orange and black bikes. :clap

Welcome to the asylum! Mighty short notice but several of us are riding @ HLC tomorrow and you're welcome to join us. HLC is Hard Labor Creek OHV park, private land, no hunters to be concerned with and NO TAG required. If this is do able for you, PM me a phone #. I can meet you @ hwy 85 and Interstate 10 in the morning if you want to follow me over to HLC. If tomorrow doesn't work then maybe next time. No big deal.

Hard Labor? Sounds like such a nice place... I'll try to get over there by about 10a tomorrow. Don't worry about meeting up to drive over there--I should be able to find this place .

How is HLC for those of us w/ AARP cards and dualsports?

Or, put another way, is it a place where we non-racers can do spend the day riding the trails?

Welcome fello So Cal desert rider.....I'm an old District 37 racer myself. The biggest difference with Eglin is all the trees. Looking forward to riding with you.

I have a dual sport AND the card. :lol3

Absolutely. Pretty much all trails are one way. There are open areas, designated ATV areas, MX tracks, motorcycle ONLY trails. Compared to Eglin there is no sand. The single track trails are wide enough that when a good rider gets on my rear wheel and let's me know his bike has a rev-limiter, I can move over and let him get back to warp speed. There is a unload dock and 3 wash stations if you want to knock off some mud before loading up. $20 for the day is total cost and I bring something to eat and drink as there is no concession stand.
Dexter is 73 yrs old, half owner, runs the place and rides a KTM 300 xcw. His cell # is 850 527 0615. Also, check out website for pics, maps, directions.
