Lunch on the Citigo Creek deep in the forest north of the Cherahala Skyway.

Papa Wheelie offered me $300 if I’d jump in clothes and all.
    Nope.

Very jealous. I stopped for a while at a little campsite/swimming hole on that creek last year. I considered jumping in, but it was about 85° so that would have been pleasant. I need to get back up there, even if it is a short trip. Keep having fun!

    False.

I can tell you first hand that even in August those pools off of the parkway are COLD!

Reminds me of when I hopped into the Flathead River in Montana. That water was so cold my brain actually locked up for a second. In July. :vardy So i did it 3 or 4 more times to get used to it. :lol3 Nobody ever accused me of making good decisions.

I grew up swimming in those holes. We used to have a blast on "rock slides". (redneck version of a waterside)

Stone mountain NC had some of the best ones that I can remember.

Here's a random internet pic of one of the falls from up there. I have been to this particular spot probably a hundred times.
You can climb up and slide back down the lower part into a deep hole of COLD water. Some folks have tried unsuccessfully to slide all the way from the top.
(several people have died falling off this set of falls)

    YES Jon!
The Smokey Mountain 500 tracks are located at this thread by Andy Simon:
    http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/smokey-moluntain-500.926507/

I’m gonna post up backroad tracks that Mike J created from Sylacauga to Ellijay that will put you on the Smokey Mountain 500 Loop.
Excellent way to get there from our area instead of enduring the interstate mess getting up there.
Runs you through Talladega Forest(the big dualsport friendly 600/500/540 forest service roads) and great secondary rural roads of Alabama and Georgia.

On Facebook, look up Smokey Mountain 500 page for recent updates of conditions and fsr closures.

    That is all for now.
