Here's Mike J's tracks from Sylacauga Alabama to Ellijay Georgia that will put you on the Smokey Mountain 500.
Can go clockwise or anti clockwise once you get there,,,,,, your choice.

Figure about 4 hours to reach Sylacauga from our area and around 4 1/2 hours and 200 miles to get to Ellijay on those tracks that will include some nice riding through the Talladega Forest (600/.500/540 FSR's and 281 Skyway Motorway) and backroads of Alabama and Georgia.
Track runs within a couple miles of KTM World in Georgia for those needing orange piece/parts along the way.:lol3

Do yourself a favor and put the SM500 ride on your to-do list in 2018.

Track download for Smokey Mountain 500 is located here:
    http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/smokey-moluntain-500.926507/

Track that I provided in this post will just give you a interesting trip up to the Smokey Mountain 500 from the PAR direction instead of getting there by the Interstates and going through Atlanta.

I have managed to ride all of theSM500 only not at one time. Something always messes up the ride but I have covered it all.

A must do for a DS rider. Great stuff.

IMHO you should start in Ellijay and ride counterclockwise.

Thanks Tony, sounds like a great trip. One day up and one day back, can the SM 500 be done enjoyably in 2 days to make it a 4 day round-trip?

    No Jon.
Need 3 days on the SM500.
Dedicated 5 day excursion I’d say.

Like Vic, we’ve also have been taking it in little bites along with other routes not on the SM500.

Would have been fun on the DRZ400, but the AT is so much more comfortable. Your GS is the way to go I’d say.

Took us 3 trips to cover it all. Loved each trip up!

    Remember life before PC?

(The term political correctness (adjectivally: politically correct; commonly abbreviated to PC or P.C.) is used to describe language, policies, or measures that are intended to avoid offense or disadvantage to members of particular groups in society.[1][2][3][4][5] Since the late 1980s, the term has come to refer to avoiding language or behavior that can be seen as excluding, marginalizing, or insulting groups of people considered disadvantaged or discriminated against, especially groups defined by sex or race. In public discourse and the media, it is generally used as a pejorative, implying that these policies are excessive)

    To All

It is with great reluctance that I have decided to sell my beloved 2012 KTM 500. Its just not in the cards for me to ride this bike anymore.
I'm offering it here first if anyone is interested. If not it will go public for 5K. Everything is almost brand new. You all know the submarine incident but I have completely rebuilt everything on that bike and have the invoices to prove it. Lots of extras including a set of plastics and S12 tires.

Also have KTM riding gear for sale. Nice AVG helmet and vented 3/4 jacket.
