I thought I'd practice for my trip to Peru this past weekend. I need to try out my cold weather gear. So I suited up and headed out off to Peru

Well not actually the real Peru but close enough. Peru, IL.

I figured if I started this ride report before I left, I might actually finish a ride report.

I don't know if I'm crazy or what for attempting this trip.

I've only been riding for less than 2 year and now I am going to tour the country of Peru-with ?? road conditions.

    This is only the beginning....

The rds arent too bad down in Peru....mainly watch out for oncoming vehicles, and animals in your lane! And for sure dont drive at night!
Other than that, you will love the scenery...looking forward to your posts

    Hola from Peru!
We´ve been on the road for over a week now, we´re still at it! Our route basicall tok us from Lima South to Pisco, then Nazca, and then up and over the Andes. We took a few days in Cusco, saw the Incan ruins, and then headed South again. We´re now in Puno, on the shore of Lake Titicaca (what a great name!). Some pics then?

Damn! I have to figure out this weird South American keyboard, and learn a little more Spanish to figure how to post a photo. Standby.

Don't worry too much about the roads. You CAN do all the off road riding you want, but you can ride from Peru to Peru on pavement the whole way if you want. Traffic, and as someone mentioned, animals are the main problems. Just ride slow in conjested areas and never ever ride at night and you should be fine.

I've done that ride and it's a lot of fun.
