Anyone done a Petcock replacement with a pair of Petcocks not the original ones ?

I am over the constant dicking around with the OEM petcocks ...... Mine have leaked their last drop of the precious Bang liquid onto the Garage floor tonight .

I had a look at the ones on my WR 450 Yamaha , the mounting holes look like they will line up but the ergonomics are wrong for the mounting , the fuel exit needs to be the opposite direction (or down ) due to the closeness of the Radiators to the front of the Safari tank , unless I was to rotate them so the tap faced the engine .

Has anyone else been through this before me and triumphed :clap , or failed to find a suitable replacement :cry ?

    Cheers

They ain't cheap, but CJ has a quick disconnect on his site.

I went there, searched "fuel" and scrolled down past the gas caps. You'll see 'em.

Why not replace the petcocks with flanges and banjos like the have on the rallys? Then its just onto the drybreaks - makes removing the tanks one step easier..

Geez! Flanges, petcocks, CNC drybreaks, solid state, banjos! I remember when you turned on your squeeky cork petrol tap, tickled your Amal and you were away...(and I'm talking Monoblock not concentric) Lol

Well I probably have this to come as I'm waiting for my Safari to arrive for my SE. Leaking petcocks would be crap if you want to park your baby in your room. Could it be as simple as exercise the petcocks every week instead of once in a blue moon? I mean give them a good workout? Anyone done this?
