Haha had the same exact bike in the States. Put 20000km on mine before leaving and it is the best motorcycle I have ever rode period. Look forward to meeting up for coffee or an adult beverage one day.:freaky

This is a great thread. Hopefully I can ride in the Philippines someday. What is the best way to rent a motorcycle with panniers in Manila?

In January we lost Martin Gino (Herc). He was very helpful to both local and visiting riders. It is heart warming to see that there are others here that are stepping up to be helpful.

There are so many great places here in the Philippines to not only ride, but, to visit, see, dive, and to enjoy the Filipino people.

Keep up the good work, you are making it better for everyone.

Who here will be registering for the Ironman Challenge in January? Also are there any BOSS members here? I am interested in joining but website seems to be down.

I was in BOSS for a year or so, but it wasn't really my sort of thing. A pretty cool bunch, lots of friends there, and good support from BMW. Last I heard, Tey Usis was the President of BOSS, I can PM you his mobile number, or you can message him on Facebook.

Edit: Whoops, Lakay Bernard is the current President. Joey del Rosario is the current director of membership. I don't know their contact numbers, but they can be found on Facebook too.

Ya I'm up in the air on getting into another group myself. Prefer going with 1 or 2 people at a time.

Thanks for all the replies. The KLR setup might work but I will need bigger tail trunk to accommodate some equipment. I might consider the 650 GS since I ride an f650 GS. I wonder if they will let me attach my panniers and trunk.

Started reading earlier threads. Great pics and great adv riding. Very sad to hear that Herc passed away. Great ambassador to the sport and great example of wonderful human being and Filipino. Nice to know that a lot of people have picked up where he left off.

Philippe's bikes come with a trunk already. I am going on a trip with him this Friday for 4 days. Will make a ride report when I return.

And I thought my bike wasn't suited for this stuff. We had a Goldwing with us too.

Stopped here for lunch. Just kidding.

We actually had lunch in Taal Heritage Town, at Don Juan Barbeque. Highly recommended.

Lots of local specialties; tapang taal, longganisang taal, inihaw na baboy, fried tawilis, adobo sa dilaw, simaing na tulingan, ginataang sitaw kalabasa.
