    RIDE POSTPONED!

<s>It's official (as it can be) - The big bike bomb run from Phoenix (well, Wickenburg) to Lake Havasu is April 20 and 21, 2013. That's right -This time it is an overnighter!

Meet time: 7 a.m. in Wickenburg
Place: Ike's Cookhouse (NW Corner of US-60 & El Recreo Dr. in Wickenburg)</s>

There are a few different routes we can take out and back. If Brown's Crossing north of Alamo Lake is open, I would like to go that route on the way out. Anybody have current info on the crossing? If it's wet we can head south and take the side trip to Swansea and then continue to Parker. I have another route for the return that comes out of Havasu Heights. It's a little rocky and technical in spots, but still big bike friendly.

Post up any other route ideas and if we should wait for you in Wickenburg. :deal

Nightstalker is hosting the GPX file with routes for Day 1 and Day 2.

Disclaimer: We will ride fast. We will probably ride late. If history is any indication (2010, 2011, 2012) we will likely have problems and/or break something. With that in mind, come prepared (for anything) with a well maintained bike and lots of energy, food and water. Murphy's Law will take care of the rest.

Let's meet at the newer little (round) resturant right where we pop out when we come over Buckhorn, I can't remember the name, but DOD and I have ate there and they have the best sourdough pancakes ever!! oh and Bacon!! Its the little round building only open for breakfast and lunch, Charlie, what's the name of this place?

Are we camping or hoteling it?

This is gonna be Big Fun!

Is it "DJ's New Frontier Diner"? That's the only little and sort of round-ish (octagonal) restaurant I see where El Recreo Dr. meets US-60.

I'm hoteling it. Anyone else who wants to can camp.

Count me in, if I make it back from Denver by then. :D

It may take me a week or 2 to ride home depending on the amount of snow still on the high mountain passes Between Denver and Durango.

Yeah, snow on the passes... right... :evil :lol3 There are some almost all dirt routes from Denver to Phoenix. Bring your tent! :deal

Thanks DOD! I can't seem to find information for Ike's. I assume they would be open by 7 a.m.

One of these days we'll do a ride that fits your schedule. And Reidy's! :lol3

Nobody has brought a KLR on this ride yet so we haven't had the opportunity to see one of those split in two like they're known to do. :evil There have been KTM casualties, but the deck has been slightly stacked.

I know the KLR will make it but at slightly lower speeds than the hooligans will be maintaining! I sure do not want to break it while I am trying to sell it although it is SOOOOO tempting!

    Enjoy!

I'm not sure what the actual ride time would be, but we can usually get from Wickenburg to Havasu in time for lunch even with side trips, broken bikes and attempts at rescues! :lol3 It's really not that far. I can email you a route that you could follow even in the dark. It's the one that goes south of Alamo lake and into Parker.

Now this sounds like something I can do with you guys. You guys need a chase truck for that overnighter. It's fast, well equipped and ready to run. How about if I come along for the support? Ifffin you guys don't mind?

I'm equipped with gas, air, tools and ice chest with your choice of what you put in it. :freaky I can carry cloths, backpacks etc.

I can even handle clean up on the back end for those pesky bikes that don't belong on rides like this. Not that I would think ANY one would ever think of doing that. :lol3

    comoon, can I, can I???

That's a little bigger than the Razr that usually follows us! :eek1 :lol3 I'm cool with it if everybody else is. I have been wanting to see one of those beasts stretch its legs in the desert! We'll try to avoid the singletrack if we go out or come back in the wash this time. :D
