If you need a square of gasoline resistant rubber to make a gasket so the tanks won't leak let me know. I've still got a bit left. The one they send es no bueno.
As I mentioned above, even though Aqualine originally said they'd be drop-shipping my tanks on April 5th, I didn't get my Australia Post tracking number till April 16th. Like a kid waiting for Santa, I've been checking the Australia Post tracking page daily... the status has been stuck on "TRANSFERRED" (what ever the hell THAT means!).
Imagine my surprise this wonderful, sunny, warm Monday morning in the Foothills of the Rockies when our friendly postal carrier rings my bell and tells me she's got a HUGE package for me (would have been worried had the mail carrier been and man and said that )
"Who could it be knocking at my door?"
Rather than pull a Geek and spill gas all over the floor of my garage (see his Back in Black thread for the dirty details ), I'm gonna go ride all the fuel out of my stockers (or as much as I can without stranding myself somewhere).
Been itching to make sure I got a set this season and now I'm REALLY itching to get 'em installed. But, it's a Monday and clients are screaming for work, so they're gonna have to sit just a bit longer.
Yeah, the finish on these puppies is not what anyone would call "refined", but... they sure are GORGEOUS to me.
Great to hear it all worked out.
See you in July.
In the nick of time...we were about to have an intervention.
Hi I'm Narsisco Lopez, and I'm impatient.
damn those black ones look sexy
CJ can you take 800 easy payments of $2?
The best part of David getting those tanks is not having to listen to David go "I wish I had my tanks...."
Hello, my name is Narsisco Lopez and I am an cantwaitaholic... it's been 4 hours since my last package has arrived.
you guys have too much fun up in the mountains
Rocky Mountain High, brother...
More on the way.
Keep me posted how I can help with your next "FIX".
I'm going to have to start reading these threads from the beginning because when the first line you read is:
you tend to wonder what the 10G+ thread is all about :huh
My brother works as a designer for 3M's Original Wraps and has been a vehicle wrap installer for years. Prepped the plastic, used a bonding agent...
not sure if it'll stick long-term, but we gave it a try anyway. Cheap experiment.

David: I need to talk with your brother about some wrap ideas I have for my Sprinter...
I'm sure he'd be happy to "wrap" with you about your ideas (Jeez... that was corny )
Well, I can say that after doing 5,000 miles over the last three weeks the fuel range of my stock 950 SUCKS
At one point during the trip I stored the 950, flew up to San Francisco and rode my KLR650 down the coast to L.A. (was VERY happy to get back on the KTM) the stock range on the KLR650 is about 270 miles to a tank which is WAY WAY more appropriate for an adventure type bike. (KLR gets much better mileage).
I felt like I had to get gas all the time "just in case" with the stock 950 adv set up. May be looking at upgrading the tas in the future.
I love mine. I wish I had upgraded the tanks when I first bought the bike.
