anybody try Google photos? It is free, storage is unlimited (compressed photos), and many folks already have a Google account. Is there a reason folks on the forums aren't gravitating to Google?

I may have answered my own question. I can't find a way to link a photo into a thread.

You don't have to use an overpriced Apple product to do that.

They just won't stop trying... lately have gotten two of these e-mails: "
Your account is over 100% full.
You've hit your storage limit and you will not be able to access your account.
Upgrade your account today to restore access to your content.
    "

Pretty sure first mention from them that I've reached my storage limit. Actually, I couldn't see anywhere where it showed the percentage of alotted space I'd used.

    Screw photobutcket!

I started to use my Google Photos to post pics instead. I'e been backing up my pics for years there anyway. All you need to do is use this simple embed code generator. Works like a charm!

You guys know you can just post photos to the actual forum with no hosting right?
It's right here look at the "upload pic" button... why bother with hosting?

Because it's nice to have access to your pictures everywhere on any device - and to have a backup.

I get that. Def try Google photos. If you use your phone you can set it to "auto back up" every time it get's near wifi. Or if you take actual pictures with a real camera you can just select the folders and back them up.
I do photo and video for a living and have all my pics backed up on Google Photos. Saved into Albums. It's great also for sharing. My Mom is 80, and has a hard time with photos and such. I can send her a link to my Photo albums and BAM, she get's them all with 1 click.
