Probably one of the most photographed landmarks:
It's just off 285 near Villa Grove, not far after you turnoff toward Bonanza. I don't think it's there any longer, it wasn't last year, but was for several years before that.
I knew it! I've seen it. I stopped right there before. I dropped my damn glasses and stepped on them there. D'oh!
Graet signs :
"Unsuitable for Motor Vehicles" is a great one that is quite common in the UK. It's practically a roadsign issuing a challenge.
At the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, Greenbank, WV.
I had to chuckle when I saw this photo. Several years ago, my wife and I rode our K12GT up to Canaan Valley on a long weekend trip with friends. As we approached Green Bank, she spied the radio telescopes and wanted to stop. She asked their purpose and, as convincingly as I could, I explained to her they were the microwave antennas for the mid-Atlantic and southern states. She looked at me curiously and I went on to tell her they supplied the power for microwave ovens all over the region. Some of the guys started snickering and the moment was lost. I need some new friends.

Signs that should read FUN!
Hello Mr. John F...what kind of scooter/bike is that??? Looks real cool ...how does it handle on the highway with it loaded up??? I'll be in the market for one soon. How fast do you normally go when touring?? Thanks for any info.
This may be a repeat, but a super enjoyable ride. I will return!
This was taken in 2011 between Red Lodge and Yellowstone NP.
