Pretty ambitious route Eddy. You better keep the group small and bunched up. You won't have any extra time for hiccups or stragglers.

Yes it is Tom u should join us to find out more:D, I just finished recon ride yesterday with drdfblackm we did ~ 80 miles (off-rd) of day 2, you guys are up for interesting terrains. A lots of ruts, tight switch backs, rocky uphill/downhill, hi-speed gravel etc... .Day1 is as similar. The terrains is extremely diverse and unpredictable. It should keep u on your toes now & then.
I thought of that, if it get to big we will have to spilt it in 2 or so.

    Here u go,
At the Parking lot depart point.

I took different route on 6150 that connect us to Gray Mtn Truck trail.
There was so much vibration in that ride that I lost my Road-book, and Darr. lost his Brake pedal. On the top of plateau that give on to Grey Mtn.
I memorized some points on my GPS so I was ok without my rd-book it only serve as an insurance for directions.
Because I took different route that we usually take I went and take a look that we were on the right track cause I remember that turn.
Near Anita road we did some crazy switch back and we end up at the rail road intersection (were we suppose to be anyway). Darr. is fixing his bag.

A lots of gate like this...[IMG]

I would agree...those photos show you nothing....especially the big thing near that thing and having to go over that other thing down by the thing. :lol3

This is a little off topic but I noticed you are both wearing fly trekked helmets and was planning to order one! Would you recommend for all around use?

Nope...we wanted to coordinate helmets for the ride.:lol3

What I will say about them....#1....if you want one get one from Dillon at ZenMoto in Scottsdale, he is on the forums here and tell him that Darrin or Eddy or both sent you to him.

#2...They are not the best helmet on the market, but for the money it is extremely good. It fits my head very well.

#3...It is very nice to not have to worry about goggles on a long ride and you can wear whatever sunglasses you want under the helmet.

I would say try it and see...not that expensive at all.

I agree that looks like a ambitious ride for two days... But--- you know I ride like a "Slow O'l Guy".
May use some of the route for a summer trip, but add a couple days to it.
Have a great time and don't get on the wrong side of any of those locked gates! :D
Will be lookin forward to the report...

You should try one on first. I have the AFX one ( same helmet shell) I tried on the fly and the AFX on and I needed a different size with each.

Eddy, I am way bummed! That's the same weekend as my annual boys fly fishing trip. :baldy It's also the same weekend of the District 37 Big Bear ride. What'up that one weekend? Oh well, maybe there will be less horse activity since I won't be on the ride.:dhorse Please pm me if for some reason the dates change as I was planning on going on this great ride. Thx

Since I know most of the guys looking at this are from Phoenix to up North like me. Does anyone have or know of someone that has a KTM 640A/E or a 625SXC that I can take a short spin on...doesn't have to be off road, but everyone says I need to ride the LC4 engine before making a decision. I am thinking that this might replace the DR650, but want to be sure I can take the buzz the engine has.

I had one and my neighbour bought it from me. We live near Lake Pleasant and I am sure you could ride his if you want. Obviously you would need to come to him. Cheers

PS . I didn't think the vibration was it was bad at all.
