Man, I would like to go on a ride this week, but I have this horrible cold that I can't seem to shake. I will however keep an eye on this post in case I get to feeling better like right away.

Looks like the weather is questionable for tomorrow (Wed. 12/19) - so I am planning on Thurs. 12/20.

I'm in Phx for a month or so - minus a little time in Baja for Christmas.
I'd love to get some riding in with some locals!

I can jump on a Husky 510 or a KTM SMT. Let me know skill level too, if its ok for beginners I know my gf would love to come. She's also got a bike for dirt and street.

And I know a fellow coming down shortly looking to purchase a bike. If you know of any machines, PM me.

I am not to familiar with SMT's I would think the ride could be done on either bike depending on your skill level. It is mostly fast dirt roads with a few rocky rough sections. One in particular steep rocky short down hill right after coming over Sheeps Bridge. And one tough little up hill with some rock shelves after coming over the damn. I have seen guys do it on larger bikes KTM 990's, but I would not want to do it on that, but I'm a whimp. You definately would want knobbies on the SMT. I would think as long as it is not your girlfriends very first ride on dirt she would be capable of doing it - might need some assistance in some locations - which could make for a long day for her and you.

Sounds like the gf will do fine then.
We should be headed south tomorrow. I'll have to wait until the new year for a ride around here.

Would have loved to have you both come along. Have a safe and fun trip to Baja. There are plenty of inmates around here that would love showing you guys around when you get back in January.

Looks like Baja won't happen this month.

    You already went out?

Let me know if you are hitting the trails anytime soon!

That is to bad about Baja, I already went yesterday - it was a great day. Hoping to get some photos posted soon. Big-E is riding tomorrow you might want to tag along with him. He is a great guy, looks like he will be doing part of the ride I did yesterday.
