At the gas station, this fellow decided to drive away while still connected to the pump. Apparently this wasn't his first time, as he knew exactly how to reconnect the hose.

After lunch we headed through Jerome and onto Perkinsville road.

Here's the Ghosttown attraction heading out of Jerome.

And on to the Smiley Rock trail. Here's Factory Phil and the Smiley Rock.

There are sections of the Smiley Rock trail that are quite agreeable.

Ricky D in one of the not so agreeable sections.

No, that's just how I park my bike when I stop to take pictures.

Then I got attacked by Optimus Prime.

Road Block! There were two trucks towing a broken jeep though all these boulders.

You had me puzzled with Copper Canyon and then going under I-17. :dunno I had to look at a map to figure that one out. Cool route. Let's see the rest! :lurk

Sorry about falling on top of you in the rocks but you were blocking the "good" line (like one really exists in that boulder canyon).:ricky
Great riding with all of you, fantastic day weather wise and we had zero problems. Too bad for those guys towing that jeep out of Martin Canyon, that had to take them hours!
Need to get ahold of the FS and see what is up with the " Road Closed 6 miles ahead" sign on 413 at the 493 turnoff.
I bet the Jerome residents on Upper and Lower Gulch roads are behind it. Especially after seeing the sign on Lower Gulch at 89A that said " Local Traffic Only, your GPS is wrong"

Thanks for the great ride Bob and Terry . I guess I'am to new to be able to post pictures yet. Maybe I need to get my post count up before they let me post, time to go back and reread the rules.

There was a rockfall on the loop road that not many vehicles can pass through, maybe that's the reason for the road closed sign.
