4play posted up an open ride invite for a Turkey Creek run from Bumble Bee to Cleator, Crown King, and points in between.

A manageable bunch showed up for the ride including:

    4play - KTM 600
    Refokus - KTM 450
    HoosierTrailMaster - Honda XR400
    Ashlandmine - Kawasaki KLR650
    RZRDave - Polaris RZR
    Nightstalker - Honda 450X

Powerline maintenance closed the I-17 northbound briefly on the way to Bumblebee. Cool helicopter!

4play brought a shiny new tire!

Ashlandmine was the last to show up on his KLR - but he was ready to ride!!

We were a little worried about someone on a KLR doing this ride. Well, if Ashlandmine is behind the bars, there's no worries!!

    First big hill.

    Then into the deep sand.

    Let's climb some hills!

    Relax on an easy section.

And on to the rocky ledges.

    Tight fit for RZRDave.

HoosierTrailMaster made the early morning trek from Tucson to join the ride.

    Dry but rocky.

    HTM had a little oops.

    No problems for the KLR!

Where the hell was the Big Foot that jumped out in front of me?

After a big lunch we just headed back down to do Turkey Creek again. So different going the other way. Buddy thought it was GNCC, he was really pushing the pace and it was very "trials" like on the very end there.

I thought it would be a good idea to check out this trail near the top...

    Maybe not so much...

The decision to turn back was unanimous.

Ashlandmine and I bailed out once we hit the Crown King road. The rest of the crew continued on to Crown King for lunch.

40 miles for me. Awesome fun!

Just one more thing to add....

Ashlandmine and I hit some terrible traffic trying to get back to Phoenix. He found an undocumented route out...

We decided we would be content with riding back through Turkey Creek back to the trucks.
Riding it backwards is anything but boring, all new challenges.

    Looks like lots of fun.

    4play,

You need to inform people what a KTM 600 is.
