Usually when I post up a single track ride, I'm lucky to get 5 or 6 riders, but something must have been in the air yesterday because the lure of Sycamore brought out 16 riders total!

I think WAN will remember this hill for a long time!

Conditions were perfect! Cloud cover and still lots of moisture in the soil from the rains of last week.

Escon Deasy wheelies down the SLAB!

Richard hooked the ocotillo at the top of the slab with his handlebars and had a most horrible crash.

It was about this point that the group split. WAN was ready for the short way out and Steve and Ricky D gave a brother a hand and led him back to the trucks. Just after they left, Kyron Sr found his bike was stuck in 3rd gear. He took off behind Steve and crew heading for the trucks. The remaining 12 continued on.

The group split again after I tried jumping a gorge and ended up landing on a boulder with my radiator.

Richard, Pammy, and Milo volunteered to join my rescue team! Thanks guys!

jb_74 stepped up and led the remaining 8 back toward the trucks. I later heard that this leg was not without its own set of challenges!

We regrouped after the ride and headed for the Saddle Bronc Grill.

They easily accommodated our party of 9.

    The food was awesome!!

The beer was delicious! They have like 30 beers on tap. Pammy and I split a pitcher of Breckenridge Vanilla Porter. So good!

Thanks to all that helped the old guy on the red bike, especially the nice guys that made sure I made it out safely. Sorry for holding up the ride. I will get a smaller single track bike and a few lessons before I try something like that again. :deal

Maybe some small after market rocket boosters for the next gorge attempt eh Terry? Good luck on the radiator repair.

WAN, I also started late, at 39. So long as you got started, that's all that matters. Such an addicting "hobby".:super

I don't really have too much to add. I'm not quite the picture master as NS. I do have a couple though.

With 16 riders there was A LOT of this.

After Fearless Leader had to pack it in, we were down to 8.
What kind of ride would it be without a flat right?
But why did it have to be me?

When I pulled the tube, this is what I found. WTF????

At this point we lost 3 more who made a beeline for the trucks. That put us down to 5.

After changing the tube my gopro battery went dead and I was on a mission to get back to the trucks. Needless to say there were no pictures or video after that.
