Will the 400 & 500 get reverse or is it paired with the electric motor. I wanted to like the hybrid but it has less storage and less HP than the 400. I want a 400!

141 mpg? sounds too good to be true. a 5 gallon tank would mean 705 miles before fillup.

It's easier to reverse the polarity of the motor than it is to package a reverse gear, so I'd guess it's an electric-only feature.

250kg (549lb) weight combined with 125cc, 14bhp engine. Batteries run out after about half hour in combined mode. On electric engine alone the top speed is about 20mph, with the effective range of some 11 miles. No underseat storage at all, since the batteries had to go somewhere. Cost? 8,000 pounds in the UK - to put it in perspective, that's about as much as Ducati Hypermotard.

    Still interested?

(I got these figures from Kevin Ash' review in Daily Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/motorbikes/scooters/6205937/Piaggio-MP3-Hybrid-review.html)

Love the look of these scoots, but, Wow, my 1150GS is lighter than that.
