I just wanted to thank everyone here who took the time to answer some questions I had about the 690 or 500.

The dealership just called to tell me the one and only 690 they'll be getting this year was just delivered to them and will be ready for me to pick up Saturday.

It's a good thing too since it's warming up and my 990 is still torn apart out in the garage.

    Hope the 690 isn't a distraction. :rofl

Thanks again and yes I'll take some pics Saturday.

Your a lucky man to have those two bikes sitting in your garage. How are you gonna decide which one to ride?

I'm going to use the 690 to reduce the amount of silly miles on the 990. I want to have the 990 always ready for trips and hopefully she'll be with me for decades. I have no use for all the electronics that manufacturers are piling on all the bikes today, and it's only going to get worse.

Congrats! I sat on a 2013 yesterday at our local ktm dealer. Felt really nice being a couple hundred pounds less than the 990 :clap But that seat!! Holy shit what a brick. Other than the seat it seemed like a great bike. It hadn't been prepped to ride yet so I may have to go back.

I'll be waiting for your first ride report.

    Cheers

How may miles so far. Give a report. I got mine last Saturday in Conyers, GA. Rode it to my town of Middleburg. A little town West of Jacksonville, Florida. About 340 miles of true love. Except for that beautiful seat that felt like a cross between a 4x4 and a very large brick.

Rode the 690 to work a couple days. about 40 miles one way. Mixed highway/freeway/surface street. Great power. No worse vibration than my old Honda XL650. A whole lot more power. PULLS from way down low. At 605 miles I got off it to do the first service. Dealership wants $300 for basically and oil change and a once over. Had to order the smaller of the two filters from North Carolina. about $8 part and $8 shipping. Local dealer only had the larger of the two filters. KTM also sells a kit that includes the O rings and replacement bolts. The ADV 690 Wunder... forum guys said save your money and do it yourself. Thinking about using Mobil 1 Synthetic instead of the Motorex Synthetic $$$$$ KTM recommends. ?????:eek1

Like to hear your thoughts. Suggestions. Ride on Brother...:ricky
