We drove a couple hundred miles round trip to pick up Flex my current aussie. It was only 2 weeks after having my 17 year old Flud put down.

I told the couple who placed the ad in the ebay clasifieds that I wanted to stay in touch with them. But I somehow lost all the contact info I had. So they have not seen what a stunning dog he's become.

At least I took pictures of the sire and dam.

His daddy a lanky red merle who would not stop wiggling. This is why Flex is a weirdo.

His mommy a well composed old gal.
    With proper markings for tri.

14 year old G’Dane mix Charlie.
Charlie has bone cancer and can eat whatever the hell he wants. I think he is pissed his diet has not always consisted of bacon and peanut butter.
We are losing a good one here.

Sorry to hear about Charlie. I’m not sure what my beliefs are, but if I have any say in my afterlife......in my heaven, all my pets/best friends that went before me will be waiting there for me. That would be heaven to me.

Wow - it must be dusty in my house tonight.

Your pics and thoughts remind me of my bestest buddy Tucker. He was a German Shorthair and we did everything together. He almost drowned when he was 4 in some whitewater in the dead of winter on a freezing cold day and I jumped in and drug him out. For two weeks the vet said he was sure to pass, and I took the time off of work, slept with him, fed him by hand, took his temperature, hugged him when he was shivering and carried him in and out so he could go to the bathroom. He would look me in the eye every night and if dogs could say thank you, I know that is what he was saying. He pulled through much to the surprise of the vet and lived a great life exploring in the woods, chasing squirrels and cats, following me on mountainn bike trails and sleeping next to me every night.

Whenever I have something really hard to do in my life, I ask for Tucks help. You might think it is corny, but I know he is there for me like I was there for him.
    * Buddies always have each others backs.

I sure do miss my buddy.

If you look real hard you can see an eagle on his chest - I swear it was in his fur!!

On top of Mt. Washington observation deck, 70mph sustained winds, it hurt your ears leaning into it......pretty intense. A Mt. Washington photographer is headed out behind Ripley and my wife to get some pics of Rip in the wind. He said he’d never seen a dog on the deck in that kind of wind. Ripley is amazing, 90% human 10% dog.........that might be insulting for Rip, no offense bud. He’s fairly young in this pic, I think about a year and a half old?

Very nice looking traveling buddy you got there. I have wanted a sidecar for years just to take my dog with me.
You would not believe how many times I didn’t ride after work because I felt guilty getting on my bike when my dogs were stuck in the house all day while I was at work.

    Hey Wierdrider,
Your picture looks like it needs a caption. How about,

"Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?" ha ha

Your pic made me laugh because it reminded me of our old redbone coonhound who used to bark at his shadow sometimes!!

I like your quote, I always tell people to watch out for their ankles when they approach Guinness.
