I don't know about 10 years. If Monster brought his GT86/rebodied Suzuki it would have been up for grabs. I hope Loeb come back next year.

I predict they will start installing a rail slot down the middle of the road, and only allow slot cars and slot bikes to go up the mountain, so they can't accidently run off the road. That will take a few years, so there will be progressively faster times coming. I'm working on a Mattel sponsorship already, and proposing Barbie be the passenger on my sidecar!

    HA! :rofl:rofl

I grew up in Manitou right at the base of the mountain and I fondly remember race week every year as a kid, though I think we only went up to watch it once or twice in person (always watched on t.v.). I lost touch with it for, oh, the last 20'ish years so to hear they paved the road to the top is a bit of a bummer for me. I have a lot of respect for the racers hammering up that mountain even if it is paved, but a bit of the 'holy shit!' factor has been removed from it for me :cry

I seriously doubt it, Monster builds a mean car, but he is no Loeb!

I'll just guess you've never raced slot cars because they go off track all the time?! :deal

Nope.. I was having too good of a time. There were so many paid photographers running around that I figured I would just enjoy theirs when thet hit the net instead of me worrying. I just kicked back and enjoyed the noise and show!

This is a masters course in driving. Very smooth, the car is never upset, never strained, just making speed.
It never seems to lose traction. It has traction control and probably yaw control. I think a couple of chatters but amazed at the lack of push or oversteer.

My favorite steer wheel. Straight bar 14 inch. Thumbs at 9 and 3. Nice crossovers. I think he pulled a hand off once

He is still blazing fast at the top. Normal turbo car would lose 1/3 hp and yet his shifts seem just as quick between gears. As I said once...I'm curious if this car has energy recapture technology, to use at high altitude.

The speed is deceptive, because of the smoothness.
