Anyone riding this weekend? I might go out on Sunday depending on how the rain turns out.
Im thinking about Friday morning... dependent on if I can get out of some work responsibilities.
Blue Mountain conditions should be perfect for Friday, so a bunch of us are going skiing.
Sunday, though, looks like it is going to be warmer. I could be talked into getting the Africa Twin out for a fluids circulation. Gortex for the "moisture". I was thinking about starting at Great Adventure, though. Maybe get a donut at the Village Donut shop at 10:00, then hit the woods.
If I can make it out on Sunday, Id join you for that ride. Ill let you know.
I’d join for that ride too. Let’s see how the weather turns out.
I was down there for a couple hours yesterday with my Tacoma, too cold for the bike. The sand was pretty much frozen and I never even aired down, drove clear across Wharton state forest from just past pick a Lilly. Good times.
Granted it rained for like 12 hrs straight today and supposed to get well below freezing The next couple days then rain again all weekend...so prob gonna be shitty conditions.
I'd say it's too early to be predicting the weather for the weekend. Friday afternoon we should have a better idea of what's gonna happen. I'll ride either day. Gortex is ready!
I'm in for Saturday morning.
Looking good. Pick a time and place, and I'll be there. Big bike or little?
Saturday is shaping up to be good weather with the rain forecast to start after 5 so I'm in. I'll propose Atsion ranger station at 11 AM so it will be warmed up a bit.
Edit: 11 at Atsion sounds like a plan
11 at Atsion sounds like a good plan. I'll bring the not-so-small 250 Rally that is not-as-fast as those ready-to-race KTMs....
I'll be launching from there at 10:00 with a couple of Ural buddies. Try not to kick sand in our faces when you pass us.
I'm planning on riding in that area a bit earlier, I may stop by and say hi, maybe ride with you guys for a while...
Getting suspension work done on my bike (remember the last time out Bill and Doc).
If I get back in time, I will join you. If not, I will join you next time.
What a treat! couple of hours in the 100 acre wood in February, 50 degrees, perfect conditions, and 6 other like-minded individuals with NJ-Bill leading the pack.
And the obligatory lousy I-phone video to complete the story:
Was only 10 min. away from the ranger station when this happened
Fortunately we had all the tools needed to fix it.
Great ride today, I was a little late to the start but eventually grouped up with everyone. Great riding today, we finished around 2 as the rain was starting. @NJ-Bill took us on tricky leg of the ride back that was a ton of fun with a few water crossings and log hops which made for a good workout. Weather was excellent but I wish the rain would have held off a bit longer.
@docgonzo my GoPro died about 2 minutes into the first video so it didn’t get anything exciting. I have to make sure it’s fully charged for next time.
My bike was sparkly clean by the time I got home!
