Just a heads up here. We're planning another flash mob kind of ride out of Harrodsburg, KY.

    DATE: Saturday 10/5/2013
    TIME: 10AM
WHERE: Starts and ends at 986 South College St., Harrodsburg, KY

The route isn't set yet but expect about 150-170 miles and 5 hours of riding with stops for snacks and photos.

If you let me know you're coming, there will be some free food and soft drinks at the end of the ride.

Here's the link to the ride from last spring. We had fun and expect to again.

EDIT 9/29/2013: GPS data has been posted here: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=22439304#post22439304

Will be giving up Hodgenville's Lincoln Days for this (same Saturday), if that's not an endorsement for how much I enjoyed the spring ride, I don't know what is!!! :rofl

I'm pretty sure you can count on WRJim and OBD, the two old guys on the WRRs from Indy to show up. When you get older you just say pretty sure.

I didn't get to complete the last ride (mostly by choice), but definitely plan on this one. Have updated my ZUMO, and look forward to trying it out. The last ride was well organized.

Well, after seeing how everyone enjoyed the first two rides I guess this idea is going to stick. Thanks to you Mbabc for the inspiration after a bunch of us attended the original Ice Breaker Ride from Paoli, IN to Cave City.

So I was thinking that if we're going to do this every spring and fall, it should have an identifiable name. That way when it pops up on the ADV forum, people will immediately know what it's about.

Our town is known as the oldest city West of the Allegheny mountains. It was one of the places Daniel Boone had a part in. Many of the local business use Pioneer in their name and the now merged city school mascot was Pioneer.

Regarding something special for this ride....maybe. One of the guys from the last ride has pointed me to some very promising roads in and near Madison county. Some are so promising that only the experienced riders on small bikes might attempt them. If anything that tough is included there will be an alternate route for the ground clearance limited bikes.

I hope to do a personal inspection later this week. The only downside I see so far with that area is getting there and back won't be the most interesting. But from the info I've been provided, it will be worth the trip.

I finally found my calendar that had my commitments listed and it doesn't look good for me. I'm scheduled to be in North Carolina on a week's vacation that we had planned since this spring.
    Dadgummit.
I'm still going to try to make it. I'd rather be in Kentucky.
