Is there anybody who s done a similar route in Europe? I was wondering which is the best way to do it? the fast way through central europe or should i take the long way so I d have the chance to visit Mediterranean cities?
I am saving money for it and I hope I ll manage it for Easter Holidays! The weather will surely be better then!

Some more details would be helpful for a good answer. What do you expect? Which bike, do you want smooth roads or something more adventurous?

The fastest way would be highway only: ferry Oslo-Kiel, down Germany, tunnels through the alps, across Italy, ferry to Greece and then towards Athens where presumably the ferries to Crete depart.

More intersting however would be a more eastern route through the Balkan. In my experience the Balkan experience got better with distance from the Mediterranean coast. That could still be done with a street bike, but there may be short gravel stretches here and there.

Crete itself has lots of small roads which can be fun on a bike. I've spend enough time there to get a tinitus from the chirping of the cicadas in the oilve plantations, but could only see a small part. I'd recommend the far south west and the south in general.

    Have fun,
