It might force Kawasaki to update the KLR with their Versys motor and 6-speeds . . . but probably not.

yep it was a bust, but not everything is there. no FJR shown and many expect a new one this year, so maybe yamaha is doing special intros.

not holding my breath however and at this point starting to give up on Yamaha. this is now the 5th model year and they still don't get it. travelers with 660s have tried several time to go to Yamaha hdqs in cali. and have been turned away. vote with your dollars and buy another mfg 650. i'm like that new Husky TR650 Terra. 650 rotax FI w/ quality suspension. gas tank a little small but mpg are suppose to be awesome to counteract that.

soon enough suzuki will update the dr650 as will kawi and the klr650, so if Yamaha does not want to support the 650 dual-sport market in the US then we'll buy 650s from their competition and. simple enough.

I’m with Eakins - I'm looking at the Huski TR650 Terra when it comes out in the next month or so - :deal checks all my boxes’ and is only $7000 - a bargain compared to the XT660z that never was – ooohhh they missed out big time – the big part that gets me is the "no response" from Yamaha :ddog

I'm with eakins on the Husky.
IMO if Yam would have done it a few years ago, but I think Husky is going to steal the show now. Little too late.....

fast forward with that...all bets are off again as the fate of the TR650 is up in the air with new ownership. sales are good for the bike but a big chunk of guys are scared to buy an orphan bike. the KTM sale killed off the momentum. i'm sure KTM has future 650 plans for Husky however but it might not be what we see today. i'd say the sale set the updated 650 market backwards.
