A Dual Sport and Adventure Bike Weekend

    Sponsored By

    BMW Jacksonville

    KLIM

This event is for "GS Giants", "Dirty Dozen Riders" and dual sports of all types. We will have 5 routes on Saturday (The Big Day) An Adventure Route for the Big GS's, KTM 990 etc., Teneres, and Tigers. We will have Dual Sport routes for A, B and C groups, targeted for bikes 650 and under. There will also be a Street Ride through the back country.

We learned some "stuff" last year, so we will be making some adjustments. Routes from last year should not be used. We may be leaning on some of the "old" hands to lead a group of your own in the A, B, C or Adventure Group, depending on numbers. Overall we are expecting a good time for all.

Where: Gold head Branch State Park, Keystone Heights, FL
    Phone 352-473-4701 Reservations 800-326-3521

Rally Fee: There is no fee

You will however be expected to pay for your own camping arrangements with the State Park as well as your food.

Food: We are planning to provide a late lunch on Friday, known as the Chili cook out. A dinner Friday night will provided by CADS folks courtesy of BMW of Jacksonville. Saturday Night will be the Big Party. We will have it catered and expect cost to be about $10.

There are Cabins for rent from $65 to $100 a night and sleep 4 to 6 people. Tent and RV camping is $20 per night, and 2 tents are allowed per site.

If you are trailering in for the day there is a fee of $5. They have an area to park extra cars and trailers as well.

This area of Florida has several State Forests for us to use as well as Ocala National Forest. We are planning to lead rides out Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

GPS Routes: Last year we had to make a number of re-routes due to heavy rain and flooding. This year we expect the same. So expect the Final GPS routes to be emailed out just before the event. We are going to try and have the routes as "legal" as we can to avoid any "Empirical entanglements". If you want to get a copy, PM me your email address and I will send you a copy.

Temperatures are expected to be a chilly 60-70 degrees that time of year with a chance of rain.

    Expect possible "snow"

    Explanation of Groups

Group A is for those that want a faster ride in a group with others where no one is expected to fall. If you have to even wonder if this group is for you, than it is not.

Group B is for most humans, nice pace for better skilled riders.

Group C is for those of us that have to go to work on Monday. No one is pushed or expected to ride over their head. Falls are expected.

Ride Leaders- If large numbers of riders attend, then we expect to break down each group into smaller groups. If you had the GPS tracks emailed to you then, you will be viewed as a possible ride leader :evil. (No one else will know where they are going :D) We will likely be looking for help in this area.

Last Years Event (it may be better to surprise yourself though and not know) :1drink

I am pretty sure we had some very big rigs in the Lake View Camp ground, which is closest to all the "action".

"Headquarters" is Cabin 110 on the map. Just up from the Lake View Camping area.
