What would you call the two "branches"? "Poser" and "Real"? "Road" and "Dirt"? Then you will get into splitting "Adventure" and "R" on the poser side. :rofl

I was against it at 1st but all these new owners keep starting new threads for every question about every part or problem they have with the 1190/1190R and its getting harder and harder to find anything. Like the aluminum box I saw somewhere that can be installed behind the filter box for tools and stuff. Or was that on a different KTM? Its almost as bad as the threads started for the Triumph Tiger 800 and 1200.

Would make it easier for the 1190 people I'd think. No need to post "xxxx problem, 1190". You'd know what bike it were automatically by which forum it was in.
And I'm the type that usually dislikes multiple forums.

It makes more sense than moving the SM and Duke to Road Warriors. Different engine, electrics and running gear.

If anything it will benefit 1190 owners purely from a search point of view, this has always been a weak point of the forum.

I am down for splitting for two reasons:

    1) I don't care about the legacy bikes

    2) I don't want to hear the legacy guy's constant bitching. It's ridiculous.

2.5) the new bikes are better than the legacy bikes. Piss off :D

    I vote for better organization.

Moderators in other parts of advrider do a more aggressive job of merging threads.

For instance all problems instead of having individual threads could go into the "ktm 1190 problems " thread.

All Farkles, including baggage, add ons, tires, what not could go into the
    "ktm 1190 Farkle thread."

I could organize it in 10 minutes if I were a moderator.

I for one bought a ktm 1190. And I hope to buy other ktms, I like the bikes, and I like the community. All the haters suck, but that is the internet forums.

    Keep it together! Organize it!

Agree. I don't think this specific forum needs a split, as much as the "Thumpers" and KTM-specific stuff generally does. Just for starters, you could break them up into: KTM thumpers, KTM twins / everything else, and give the 690 its own forum as well, since probably 30-40% of the threads in the "Thumpers" section are 690 related, and as mentioned above, have lots of redundancy between threads. This could group the Orange Crush section into several subsections for all things KTM-related.

It's much easier in here - all you have to do is specify "990" or "950 SE" or "1190" in the title of your thread here and you'll have no confusion.

Also, since we're on the subject of forum splits, they might consider "Tigers" and "Teneres" getting their own section out of the beasts forum. Once the mods start down this road, a lot of fragmentation starts to happen.. I think it's working pretty well so far, apart from my suggestions about breaking out "Orange Crush".

Also there are loads of ktm forums

    www.ktmforums.com/forums/‎

    www.ktmtalk.com/‎

    www.ktmsmt.com/‎

    singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/ktm-990-adventure-any-owners‎

:freaky:clap The 1190 stuff will die down after a while.

Someone could even do something like this if they wanted to get really involved.
