OMG - what blasphemy! :eek1:eek1 I've never seen any skunky DR650s. I didn't even think they made any skunky DRs. The ones I've seen are all stylish and good-looking; the type of bike you see and fall in love with right off the bat! At least that's what happened in my case. :D

And if you park down the street, you'll only enhance the neighbor's property value, instead of Justin's, so I'm sure he'd be proud to have your DRs park close by. :nod FYI - if you stay in the dorms in Fairbanks - I was told there is reserved parking especially for DRs, near the dumpster. A couple geezers have referred to my lovely DR as a Dumpster Reject, so I guess that's why I was supposed to park by the dumpster.

If you get down to Anchorage, let me know. My DR and I would feel privileged to ride with you two. You seem to have good sense of humors - and outstanding taste in motorcycles!

We are starting in Anchorage to assemble it all then kicking off from there.

My outstanding tastefully appointed designa yello DR is staying home here in NZ and we get to newies one white one and one grey one....flash as Michael Jackson was :rilla ... gezz I hope you fullas and fullesses don't think we are just mid life crisis riders :evil

....and "Park Down The Street" was code for we are not gonna show up the bemers :D

So in a bold move the Kiwis will now rock up to the front door like we own the place :rofl .... just gotta find it now.

Two kiwis, are you doing D2D? I am trying to get the time to do D2D. If not will just ride up to Fairbanks on Sunday morning for the BBQ. Can help you find it. I'll be on my Tiger 955i.

Yeap, we start in Anchorage on May 3rd, so we are definites for the D2D and we have booked a half site with some other inmates to halve the costs, we travel up to Inuvik after D2D then start heading south all the way to the bottom of SA.

Actually we still haul our own trash in a 20' enclosed CargoMate snowmobile trailer! :rofl:rofl:rofl

Guess we'll have to figure something else out for the DR's.

20 feet long, 6 feet wide, 6 feet tall = 10 DRs per load to the dump. Good work!!!

    Hahaha - I love it! :clap:clap

Last year when I attended a BBQ for the GlobeBusters, my DR and I "parked down the street" as there were so many Beemers I wasn't sure which one I wanted my bike to park next to and "out class." :lol3

I'm almost tempted to ride up to Fairbanks with you so we can all rock up to the front door together, and park far away from any offensive dumpsters. I'll definitely come looking for you while you're in Anchorage and maybe I'll even stay home long enough to cook you two a tasty salmon dinner - but not on the barby as mine doesn't work and might still be covered with snow, at the rate we're going.

    Justin,

You and I talked a week or so ago. My son Eli and I are coming up from Minneapolis, will be in Dawson 6/21 and from there we plan to join you for your BBQ at Trails End. We're going to need oil changes and tires by then so it works well for us. I'll call you in the next couple of weeks to order sets of K60s for both bikes ('11 KLR 650, '09 F800GS).

Hey Steve! Great to hear you and Eli will joining us at D2D! :freaky
Keep in touch with me: trailsendbmw@gmail.com and we'll square away the servicing and tire swaps.

And all you other lurkers out there: Please post a reply here on this thread! I'm using this feedback to build support for a blowout BBQ party here at the shop. I.E.: MORE REPLIES = MORE BUDGET = MORE POST-D2D INSANITY!!:rofl:rofl:rofl:dj:drums:happay:bmwrider:dutch:dg

TheCowboy and C5babe will be riding up to D2D from Minnysota and from there we'll stop in Fairbanks for the BBQ before heading on N to Deadhorse. It's nice to know we will not be alone on the road to Deadhorse after D2D.

Me and my wife riding a 1200GS two-up will be at D2D for the first time. Our schedule is wide open after that and we would love to be at Fairbanks for the BBQ and for oil and possibly tire change at the dealership.
Our biggest concern is riding two-up on top of the world highway with road oriented tires. Feedback appreciated.
    Thanks

If it is dry, then it is an easy ride 2 up. If it is wet (more than damp), then wait or take the long way thru Whitehorse.

Last year it was real wet going over and the road was very slick......

Three days later it was dry and like riding on concrete.

I was planning on heading up to Inuvik after D2D but I have lots of time so it would be fun to make a detour to Fairbanks :D
