I thought the meeting time was 7:30! WTF?
Sito, Chris, Mike, and I left 7-11 at 7:55am. Thanks guys for showing up.
It was another good ride. No other bikes, no hunters, no wind, and the weather was perfect. We got out of SCD by 11:30am. Chris, Mike, and myself continued on and did Lynx Gulch - first time for me. We got lost a couple of times, and it was fun turning around on an uphill and loose dirt. Not the best place to get lost. Lynx is tougher than SCD, not for big bikes and any noob riding alone. That was a learning experience for me and no spill. Thanks to Art and Mike for showing me the rope.
By 12:30 we hit pavement - Angeles Forest Highway and rode altogether on the way home. I can't believe Doghouse rode his 650XL like a Ninja.
Did a total of 98 miles, 70 miles of canyon and dirt riding. How much better that could get.
Let's do it again after we get back from the Death Valley ride in a couple of weeks.
Sorry, but I'm back on the couch by 1pm. Espi, hope to meet you on the next ride.
Hope you had a good run posvat, noonish is a little too late for me.
Great ride. Cool but not cold. A little windy once we got back on pavement after the dirt part of SCDR. Once we got to AFH we had left the wind behind.
Unbeknownst to Chris and Joel I took us back to Sito's hill so Chris could have another crack at cleanin' it ( ), which he did beautifully . Meanwhile the XRL decided it was naptime:huh and Joel brought up the rear chuggin' on up on the 640ADV . Lynx provided Joel and I some practice on varied terrain which will come in handy on the Death Valley ride coming up. We got a little of everything; sandy, rocky, loose & rutted hills, and the ever present Lynx water crossing.
Tons of fun. I broke my brake lever ( ) and burnt a hole in my pants () and I go do it again tomorrow.
Whats up H8....
where does that SCD come out....? can you take it to 4n32 to Aliso Cyn?.....
SCD becomes 3N17 before it reaches AFH (N34 23.505 W118 04.874). There's a parking lot across.
Sure, BPL Rd. (4N32) and 3N17 meets at N34 23.232 W118 15.111. Not sure if it's open, we saw a few locked gates along the way. If you want, let's check it out next time.
Excellent ride! Let's do 'er again soon. I'm jealous of you guys going on the DV Noob trip.:fyyff
I'll be curious to try 4N32 which will take us to Aliso Canyon. Get on AFH and go back up on 3N17-SCD, then to Little T (where we started). That will be a good 80 mile ride :eek1 .
Anyone on this trail before? Chris, you're the designated pathfinder!
Before this post gets old....let me stick some pictures in.
The usual suspects!
Forty miles of dirt and dirty road
Sito milking the his cow!
