- 120,000 km (so far)
- NEVER restored - just maintained

Bike was completely disassembled when new and the aluminum polished. I ride it everywhere - and I still enjoy it.

Picked this one up from the side of a nieghbors garage for 500 bucks. Had been sitting under a BBQ cover for 3 years. Rebuilt the carbs and she fired right up. Have the front end apart now to do the head bearings. Got the luggage too..........in it's original packaging!

1982 R100RT, just over 20,000 miles. Black Cherry paint. (Beautiful color and just done in April 05, but not my color choice.)

Looking for suggestions on small "S" type fairing, lower bars and different style mirrors...any recommendations?

Yeah, okay. Here's my (currently) favorite shot of my current airhead, on Wentworth Springs Road, not far from the Rubicon Trail. I've also owned a 1980 R100RT, a 1981 R100RS, and a 1983 R80RT. Currently I have a 2005 FJR1300A for commuting, highway touring, and getting my speed kicks. I leave the knobbies on the GS all the time now and just use it to do stupid things.

I got to see this bike in 1999 at the Larz Anderson Classic. Too sweet.

Why is it taking you a few weeks?
Perhaps the /2 Yahoo site can assist you. It is a very active group with lots of expertise and knowledgeble insight.

Nice bike though, recent restore or well kept original?

My current ride. 145k km.
My ex passenger. (sigh...)
35 or so rear tires, 2 tranny rebuilds, 1 clutch, 1 pr. front brake rotors, recent crank-up rebuild.

Upside down WP forks, Ohlins shock, Jesse bags, and wee trick bits here and there.

And, as it turns out, photo credit needs to go Paula, charming passenger on Sparke's bike. Yup, Sparke of R69S/Hoske tank fame!

The question - why does it take him two weeks to mount the tank? Sparke is a thinker.... and when he thinks it is time, it shall come to be.:clap
