That's a UK Police bike ... If I'm not mistaken they came stock with the wire wheels and dual Brembo setup.

    GREAT FIND. Very nice!

Spot on! Although I changed the valve/rocker covers to the older peanut shape. I believe they have a lighter flywheel too, master cylinder on the bars, and uprated electrics, could be loads more, not sure. You do have to be careful without a centre stand, but I'm getting used to it - It's now a tool to be used for oil changes and whatnot :d

Thanks for the positive feedback! Although I'm already contemplating a tank respray :pope

@Kai Ju: fenders\mudguards are from flatracer.com - short stainless front, medium stainless rear from a triumph. Both sanded gently with 400 grit to get a brushed effect. Got the exhaust from them too :D

Parked in front of the Plaza Theater ... right next to 'The Rightous Room' ... came out after a frothy beverage to find my bikes child ('07 G650GS) and grandfather ('76 R60) had pulled up and parked on either side. Nothing quite like an extended family reunion.

Saw this at our local car show today. Pretty cool, as a complete noob to airheads the engine looks like the later ones up to 95.

Should the rope/string from the left handlebar go to the frypan or the tin can?
    Or both?
I guess two strings would be overdoing it.

Yep. My old R100S spent many years being my favorite BMW... the G/S firmly holds that position now.:D
