South of Loreto, headed north. You can see a little of the Gulf of California in the first pic....

Hell, it's still good.
Looked the same looking back, too, across the Pecos Valley in New Mexico.
Farther west, near, uh..., well not too near anything. City of Rocks SP. Yeah:
And far southern New Mexico, headed west with the border a mile to the left:

Hmmm. I've been on lots of long lonely roads, but apparently I only photograph the ones in New Mexico.
The start of Hwy 58 in Cali, on our way to Laguna Seca Moto GP last year...what a great road.
I've been on that same Highway in New Mexico. Here's my view of it.
The Hay Plain NSW Between Sydney and Adelaide
MN HWY 23. Hot as blazes that day. So quiet you could hear for miles.

I think this was in Texas, but I don't think the road had a name.

And a pic of "short girl big bike." She makes the KTM 640 look like a big bike. Must not have been a lonely highway if I was there to take a picture so DON'T GET ANY IDEAS!
