With all of the interest in the new road to Tuk I thought a thread just on northern photos would be great.

Hey, Bill - That shot looks like it was taken from near where I turned back this past summer, before you get to the first ferry crossing. Wish I'd gone all the way but time constraints prevented it.

Your new thread sounds like a good idea - it's time to showcase the rugged beauty of Far North Canada in a thread of its own. There are photos from myriad ride reports scattered throughout the forum, but require a lot of searching to locate. In addition, a thread was begun of just Dempster photos: Lure of the Dempster that might assist in your endeavour.

Agreed! Time and "life getting in the way," constraints have prevented me from returning to the northÂ…I'd like a few photos to refresh my memories of my last visits!

And one of my favorite things I enjoyed about the campgrounds was they all were $12-----and all had a picnic table, fire ring and free firewood !!! all you wanted.

Yukon Spring Birds. Think you can climb that willow? Hunker Creek Road, Dawson area.

On the Dominion/Sulphur Creek loop - don't think the Dempster is the only interesting back road. Lots of neat junk is out there.

Let's not forget the Atlin area, almost the Yukon.

KLR650 was just fine to get on top.

    Or here.

Take a run at it, Billy!

The ride out to Mayo and then on to Keno is great. From Mayo you can do a ride on a rough double track out to Keno, make a run up to the sign post hill, also a rough road, and then ride fast gravel back to Mayo, all in an afternoon.

Looking southwest and on our back into BC after having spent some time with our sister who lives in Fort Simpson NWT.

Hope to get back out into the extreme NW summer 2014.

Back in June 2012, just a few days before all the roads out of the Yukon flooded/washed out and we had to fly home from Whitehorse...

A few of my favorite shots from the Dempster Highway from last August. First time up, I'd go back!

That broken bridge in the photos I posted is as far as most people ride up the North Canol. You have to get beyond Twin Creeks to about KM150 before it opens up, that's about the first vehicle graveyard. After that, it just gets more spectacular.

This one is a bit farther:

Just the road, you don't see lots of pictures of what the surface is like, this is nearing the NWT border.
