this was in 2008. we trailered in the bikes and camped with all the toys, air mattress, big cooler...a lot of stuff to do in that area that all begins with an excellent ride in any of three directions.

Yeah that is some sad news. I have a lot of good memories from that place.

One of my favorite memories was about 7 or 8 years ago: I left the AMA race at Barber and rode straight to TWO. The weekend of a Superbike race meant lots of folks at TWO, right? I had zero vittles and no real provisions-I was banking on the kitchen being open. Imagine my surprise when I found that the lodge was closed (no food!). Luckily, there was a couple from the UK traveling around the world on their Yamaha's. (Theirs is a great story).

Lew and Anita shared their food and beer with me. Just a trio of motorcyclists enjoying the atmosphere of TWO.

And there's not even time for one last trip up there.

Taken in 2003 - first time I met Ara (BeemerChef). I think this was some random Monday, and I'd run by TWO for lunch. Ara stopped me and asked if I was Linzi from ADVRider.

I have a bunch more that people, now with families and children, would probably not appreciate being posted. :lol3

I will really, really miss TWO. Unfortunately, with a family and children and other obligations of my own, it's been a while since I've made it down there. But, it was always such a warm, familiar place to get a burger and a smile. The place to go if you just loved the ride and weren't so concerned with being seen.

I just went by there the other day and wondered why they weren't open on such a beautiful weekend.

Any reason given for the closing? Another victim to the economy?

Any idea what's going to happen to the land and building?

How about an RV park because there's definitely not enough of those in N. GA.:lol3

It's for sale if you'd like to buy it. :deal

Short story long is that the land has been inherited by brothers that live out of state. The problem is that they won't just sell or lease the land that TWO sits on and want to sell the entire 68+- acres they've inherited all together as one chunk. I think you could pick up the whole works for around 1.5 mil.

Ara, great pics from the 50cc rally. It brings back memories of my first visit to TWO. I rode up from Pensacola in October of 1990. As I came over Woody Gap on 60 I saw a rider in full leathers coming towards me. I hadn't seen anyone wearing full leathers since moving from San Diego 10 months earlier. As he got closer something didn't look right, the proportion just wasn't right:huh
The guy was riding a Yamaha YSR 50. Less than a minute later, along came 3 more 50cc sport bikes:huh What's going on here? A couple of minutes later I pulled in to TWO and discovered that there was a 50cc rally going on.

That was my first time there. I've been going back regularly since. I have a bunch of old photos I need to dig out and scan so I can post them.

TWO was part of the ride for more rides than I can remember. This next pic was taken by RichardU with his GoPro and posted in one of my RRs.

As usuel, people were sitting outside enjoying great food, great company, and great weather. There was always in interesting colection of bikes parked outside.

There were many stuffed animals in the lodge.

They had all been hit by vehicles.

Some one had added glasses since if they had been able to see the vehicles that hit them, they would have moved out of the way and not ended up here. Obviously they needed glasses:lol3
