Mo out with torn acl from shagging balls. Bummer way to potentially end career...

(13-12) What a sad day for Yankee fans. I just saw the replay of Mo going down.......................it must have hurt like hell and then the mental anguish of having to think that his career is probably over. The loss to the Royals is immaterial at this point.

(14-12) CC goes 8 solid frames with Robertson picking up the slack in the ninth.

(14-13) An early departure by Kuroda and a zero contribution by the offense has put us (1-2) in this series. With Hughes on the hill this afternoon, things are not looking good for a split.

(15-13) Hughes comes through as the offense explodes. Cano with a Grand Slam, A-Rod with a three run shot, and Swisher with a solo. Time to regroup with the Rays coming to town.

(16-13) Nova fans 8 in 7 frames of work. Some nice long balls by Ibanez and Granderson. Pettitte returns on Sunday.

(16-14) Robertson gives up four in the ninth. Offense went 0 for 8 with RISP...............pitiful.

(17-14) CC makes it 5-0 by fanning 10 rays in 8 frames. A couple of long balls with Soriano closing seals the deal. Gardner out for another 15-25 days due to a setback.

(18-14) A three run shot by Ibanez dethrones King Felix. Kuroda goes 7 innings and the bullpen gets it done. Nunez sent down for remedial everyday play.

(19-14) Hughes comes through in 7 & 2/3 innings. Pettitte to take the mound today.

(19-15) Sorry to see the return of Andy Pettitte spoiled, but I thought he did well over 6 and 1/3 innings. Lack of offense, poor execution with RISP, and bad base running by Swisher led to the loss. Oh well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

(20-15) A couple of homers power the Yanks to a win along with a costly error at first. Nova and Robertson are questionable pending exams and diagnostics. Can't afford anymore players on the DL.

(21-21) Wow! You go on vacation for a week and the Yanks slide into .500 and lose 6 of the last 7 games. Time to regroup and earn those big salaries you all contracted for. Zero offense.

The Team RISP was 0 for 13 last night!

I can barely watch these games anymore. Seems like there's no fire to this team. :cry

Yeah it is tough, but remember 09 we started off horrible. Though the Yanks are tied with the Sux as the worst record in the AL East there is such parity that we are only 5.5 games back, a hot streak and you make that right up.

(23-21) The headline of Power, Patience, & Pitching sums up the game last night. A couple of long balls sealed the deal with Pettitte going a solid 7 frames and fanning eight. Time to turn it on for the Angels and A's.

(24-21) Good start after a day off. Nova with win #5 and some long balls helped to secure the victory. Hopefully we can make up some ground on this west coast swing. Sabathia vs.Colon today.

(25-21) Some long balls and some small ball power the team to possible sweep. Kuroda will be on the hill today Jeter ties Brett on the all-time hit list. CC gets # 6 for the season.
