Good seeing you on your test run around town this evening.

You sure look mighty comfortable on that bike with those TKC's.

Good luck and have fun, Mark H.

Haha I was wondering who you was !

    Nice seeing you two !

Met Drunkuncle at the eagle river fireworks show. Currently going ok now ..

--- the testing went fine with the tkc, saddle ,& gears. Packed much lighter than when i rode I to Cali, drop some psi, & tweak the suspension a bit.

    Confirm:
F800GS can run two-up, Coldfoot to Deadhorse on internal fuel supply.
We used 4.01 gallons. Signage claims 240 miles, bikes tripmeter called 237.8
We ran slow, kept it down to 50 miles per hour until we got North of Atigun, then we let it run 55 the rest of the way.
Managed near 60 miles per gallon with a passenger.

Sorry for just now seeing this... yep I'm on here but don't get on as often as I should... I get sidetracked and spend all day in Ride Reports!

I'll try to get a pic of my luggage setup, they are Nelson Riggs but I have some bars mounted on the subframe to keep them from being... "droopy"... if you know what I mean.

I actually am getting new saddlebags for this trip to AK because the ones I have are pretty clapped out. Totally got my monies worth out of them tho.

Oh man that is beyond sweet. I'm really tempted to run a tire like that but need something that can come from ATL and back... I will probably run Angels like I normally do.

I see you're running a crash cage too? And is that a fuel container strapped to it or something else? I think we're heading towards Deadhorse around Aug 19th or so but may try to meet up, we'll be in AK for a couple weeks.

Hey Lazy Destroyer, the two tires in 180/55-17 I got the most miles out of where the Michelin PR2, still draggin my knee at 7k miles and Pirelli Scorpion Trails. I did buy the 190 scorpion trail as the 180 wasn't out yet. I ran PR2s on my Sprint ST in Europe and The Perelli's on my Ulysses in the lower 48. Got over 6000 miles out of the Trails.

I typically run Pirelli Strada/Angels. I've been getting 12k-14k out of the rears with a little bit of life left. I've never run one beyond the beginning of the wear bars.

Looking to get a tire that can make the complete trip without needing a change, but hate trying new tires before a big trip like this.

Yep the GSXR made it without too much trouble. The top of Atigun Pass was a bit slick and the ride back from Prudhoe to Coldfoot was wet and cold, definitely the most difficult of the days on the Dalton. Riding into Deadhorse was really sketchy and I slipped around pretty much everywhere up there, pretty hairy :evil

We met a few groups of guys the day before on our way up to Wiseman that couldn't make it past Atigun, even on knobbies, so I felt fortunate being able to make it on my tires.

Atigun (on the way up to Deadhorse):

Deadhorse (yes I was wore out by the time we got there LOL):

Here is when we got back just north of Wisemen on the fresh pavement, after the north section of the Dalton:
