These metal stickers have a legitimate purpose???
Not sure. When I contacted Shinko about it they said they were put in at the factory during production. RFID for inventory? Lot number? Dunno.
I did point them to these threads and posts where guys had blown tubes because of it.
Hi there from Greece, i just made this account to write that yesterday i had the same problem on my front 21 inch wheel of my f800gs.
But not with a Sinko or Avon tire, but with a Continental tkc 70 !
Googling for the problem i found this post, so Conti riders be aware!
Piece of the alu sticker on the attahed photo:
Just received my TT 804 and so far I can't find the sticker. Been running an 805 TL on my Tiger which I converted to Tubeless two seasons ago and the 805 did have the sticker. Hoping this is has been resolved or they are now only present on the TL tires.
Recently installed an 805, date code 1317, and there was no sticker.
Just remember that they are often coated in a thin layer of black something... it's not rubber, seems like paint almost.
I keep watching for them on my tires and a bright light helps. 805 in the garage right now had one.
Ya, I went through it with a light. Was able to locate one on the 805. I am thinking it really might be a TT versus TL issue.
My guess is they are RFID for inventory tracking.
The gubment trackin us from space.
This post is amazing. Thank you, I'm installing some 804/805s on Saturday!
Dammit. I put 804/805 on my Tiger last month. I didn't know about this. Great. Now I have something else I need to do.
Thanks for the heads up.
If you guys bought TL or TT and you find a tag, can you let us know in what type of tire you found it in?
Shinko is not the only one who does this. I've had the same issues with Dunlop, Kenda, Bridgestone, IRC and Avon. I got a flat from one of these little sitckers about 12 years ago and ever since then I check the tire prior to mounting and remove all stickers from the inside.
Agreed. Though after reading this whole thread, I didn't see any instances of anyone stating they found a sticker in a tube type tire. My AT is currently in the shop having these tires fitted. I did ask them to have a look for the sticker. Shop guy mentioned that nobody makes a tubeless 21" anyways. Not sure if that's true or not.

It's not true.
TKC80s come in both Tube Tire (TT) and Tube Less (TL) in 21"
as do the Heidenau K60s
Glad I found this thread! Getting ready to order some 804/805s and wanted to do some last minute research before pulling the trigger. Now I know to look inside real good before I mount them.
Maybe they're done putting the stickers in them now....or maybe they're using drywall screws?
I just installed 2 sets, none had the stickers.
We're both tubeless?
3 tubeless 1 tube.
804/805. Just fitted a TT front. No sticker. About to fit TT rear, found a foil sticker.
I had previously inspected both and found no stickers, so now I am worried I may have missed one in the front.
