    To you, sure.

To the athletes who train and compete against each other around the world even in non-Olympic years, and for whom an Olympic gold medal is the pinnacle of their career? Not so much.

I watched the ladies 7.5k race last night.
One of the competitors watch display was big enough to read.
Her Heart Rate was at 177 while standing and shooting at the targets.

The Gold Medalist was the only one to hit all the targets.
Amazing feet considering how windy it was.

    Dorothea finished 18th.

Women's gonna slalom postponed, dangerous 40-50 mph winds. No new date yet set.

I have no idea what they are doing!
    Is the idea like shuffleboard?
It's pretty cool though. Seems I remember them having brooms

    Womens Snowboarding on now.
    Everything looks so fake.
Reminds me of when Astro Turf was invented for the Houston Colt '45 team.

The same winds that were deemed too dangerous for alpine skiers didn't cancel women's slopestyle, reportedly because the alpine cancellation left a hole in the TV schedule.

As a result most of the competitors fell on their runs and even the gold medal winner took the difficult stuff out of her routine and played it safe.

They got it on TV but it was a poor show. It's hard to do complicated backflips in gusty wind that sometimes hit 40mph.

It's an outdoor sport, in the winter time. Gotta accept conditions as they are.....maybe it separates the very good from the great?

yeah, sure. 60-70 mph, strong gusty wind. Whoever makes it alive gets a medal, won't be too many.

We've made these events entertaining by pushing athletes to their limits. Steeper hills, breathtaking slopes and speeds that kill you with certainty, instantly, if you hit anything solid. And additionally, these conditions make this less of a sporting event and more of a game of chance. We could go back to safer and slower courses, slower skis and the sound of people complaining how boring it has become.

I accept the argument that it's dangerous. The tricks they perform can lead to injury. The poor performances made for a bad show, too.

Alpine skiing is also an outdoor sport and was postponed.

Congratulations to Shaun White - again Gold Medal

But dude don't drag the flag on the snow, got to be smarter than that. Sadly it was live for far too long. I'm surprised no American said something to him.

But it was a clutch performance for a 31 yr old.

Women's Slalom and Mikaela Shiffrin (an outdoor sport :lol3) postponed to Thursday because of gusty winds. Giant Slalom is now rescheduled for Friday.
