I'm planning to ride few days in Pyrenees in September. I drew this route just looking at the map, but will really appreciate your advice on it. I will rent a bike in Barcelona for 3 days (2 nights).
    Thanks a lot.

I wouldn't go out of my way to Andorra unless you want to tick that box. Plus you might want to make sure the bike hire company let's you take the bike out of Spain.

Here's a link you might find helpful - other than that, you're gonna have a great time, there are some pretty amazing roads to ride - just avoid every tunnel and you can't go wrong.

I have visited Andorra a number of times, and would agree Andorra la Villa hasn't got much to offer unless you wan't to buy some fags..
But there are some great roads there, especially once your out of the towns and into the mountain paths
Looking at your route I think your plan looks good.
Check out the road out of Canillo Andorra "Carettra de Montaup"

    Thank you guys!
Also, since my time is limited for 3 days, what are a better places to visit on this path? And also any overnight stay recommendations? I thought maybe point C first night and D the second one at "Rustic Vilella". Not sure about that place though and the road condition coming up there...
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks again.

Would it be more interesting if to break for a night in El Pont de Suert or in Vielha? Any significance of Vielha?
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Françoise is dead right about Andorra.

I saw your post when it first appeared and didn't have time to reply properly - like now!

But, forget about Andorra, Pont de Suert is a good place to stop your first night. Some of your routes are great, some better modified a bit.

    More soon . . .

I've changed the route a bit to ride in into French town Lunchon (C) to stay overnight instead of El Port de Suert. It looked nice in the pics. Here is the new route http://goo.gl/maps/c7YDi.
I'm not sure why these appendixes on that section http://goo.gl/maps/CKE6X

Please comment on this route, and let me know if I missed something worth to see around.

    Thanks again.

Yup, your new route looks great but two points:

    a) severe flooding has made serious damage to the roads in the Val d'Aran and on the pass over to Luchon. As far as i know these roads are open but just expect some delay.

    b) on your return leg take the N260 from El Pont de Suert to La Pobla de Segur then the C13 to Tremp and then the C 1412b to Ponts and onwards on the C1412a to Calaf. From thenreyou on duel carriageway back to Barcelona - about 40 minutes from there is that.

If you have time for a little excursion: follow the C13 from Tremp down towards Balaguer as far as Camarasa, where there'a great cafe (closed Tuesdays) - then just turn back - I guarantee you'll want to spend the rest of the day just going up and down this road :)

Sorry - a third point about your 'appendices' this section is a tiny narrow lane that crosses a huge sierra, called the Montsec, plus a bit of trail to the actual summit. Brilliant but perhaps not what you're looking for!

Here's a view of the lesser range d¡from the C13 to Camarasa - the summit ridge is in the distance!

I have images from the top but I'm darned if I can fined 'em :(

100% Agree with The Spanish Biker advise, I would recommend riding the LV-4012 from Sant Llorenc de Morunys to Tuixent it´s an amazing road.
