    Neat pic. I like the composition. How does it compare with seeing it in person? Do the lighter parts of the leaves, tree trunks and road appear lighter on the photo - or is that what it really looks like? HDR photograpghy is new to me.

    I'm not sure if I kept the original exposures. Basically, you take a number of shots, 3 or more, changing the exposure (EV) for each shot. I think I took 3 shots, -1 EV, 0 EV, and +1 EV. The next step is to use HDR software to combine the multiple images.

    Since this was the first attempt for me, I didn't pick the best composition to show off the effects of HDR.

    These sample from here are a better example. You can see in the first shot the flowers (foreground) are correctly exposed, but the sky is washed out. The last shot, the sky looks good, but the flowers are too dark. Combining all three results in everything correctly exposed. More examples here.
