    Hey guys,
some of you may have seen my earlier post talking about how I am designing and hopefully building a new folding lightbar for the R1100, 1150, and 1200GS motorcycles that will mount under the beak. On the R1100 and 1150 it will mount via the oil cooler bolts, where on the R1200, I plan to use the tabs on the part of the subframe that extends underneath the beak.

What I need from yall with 1200s though is the measurement, center to center, of those two tabs up front. A measurement a few months back yielded 30 Centimeters, however I would like someone to confirms this, or maybe measure the bolt spacing on another manufactures light bar and give me the dimensions there.

Also if someone could give me the spacing between the R1150GS oil cooler bolt holes that would also be much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Owen

Those tabs on the R1200 are very weak. You might wish to use J-bolts and connect your bar like I did, to the beak frame bars.

Hey that is a good idea, but would you still have the dimensions, they looked fairly strong to me?

What is the standard issue light bar for the 1200GS in terms of attachment points under the beak?

Im not sure that there is a "standard" way of adding lights. Most mount the to the crash bars, buy the billet mount that mounts above the lower triple tree, or go with the PIAA light bar which I still have no idea how it mounts.

For some reference, please see attached link. I want to know the distant between those mounting holes. I believe it is going to be 113/4 inches center to center but I would like confirmation.
