    Hey guys,

I am looking at doing my first service on my bike, I have watched the JVB videos and my dad said it all looks relatively easy :)

However I was wondering if someone had a check list of parts required and possibly tools, I think the parts is what I'm more curious about (those use once washers etc)

I would hate to start the service then realise I don't have what I need to finish it...

I am looking at doing the following for the 70,000KM
    Oil Change
    Valve Clearances
    Transmission Oil
    Air Filter
    Maybe the Final Drive fluid?

Any check lists or parts list or any documents will be most useful :)

Being in Australia and leaving for a trip in 2 weeks was hoping for the part numbers etc so I can order locally but I will check them out and maybe work out what to order :)

Here's the BEST ADVICE you'll get.

DO NOT DO A BUNCH OF WORK ON YOUR BIKE (like you've identified) within 2 weeks of your intended departure!:huh

There are too many threads that start out:

"I just did a whole bunch of work on my bike, right before my long road trip. I left town and made it 50 miles and something went KAFLOOEY! Had to return home and cancel the trip."

Give yourself a lot of time (1 month) to do the work and a couple weeks to CONFIRM that all is well with the bike before you leave...and then have to make a similar post.

BTW...from what I remember there wasn't a single BMW Motorcycle dealer near Coober Pedy! (Otherwise a great trip around OZ, 17,000 kms).
Give my regards to "THE BIG WINCH":rofl

Thanks for the advice but in the state the bike is currently in I would rather risk it then take as is, the trip will only be for about 2,000KM on road, and I will probably ride a few hundred before I leave anyways

Thanks for the maintenance schedules as well, was hoping for the parts list more but I didn't check the links so might be in there anyway :)
