I ended up getting a set off of Fleabay. The rear is a k1200GT, and a RT front. The K series does not have as much offset as the R/RT. The rear wheel was really reasonable, but the front can be a bit more pricy, and a little more challenging to find a decent one not bent and scraped to shit. For a good front, you will have to drop 300ish.

Well, the K12R rear wheel required me to move the exhaust out a bit.
I’m hoping that the R12R rear wheel just fits. Even with an offset. I’ll have both soon.
Just ordered a set of R12Rs from an angry man on eBay.
Will post my findings once I get them. It’ll take a while since I live in Nicaragua.

The R12R rotors are 320mm and the GS are 304mm in diameter. So, they didn’t quite fit.
I just got a new set of GS rotors that a gentleman on FB gifted to me.
And waiting on my R12R wheels.
    I don’t think it’ll be an issue.
I also just got the spoke wheels for the GS. So, I’ll have two bikes in one.

Anyone know of someone, or have any experience with the 17 inch wheel swap on a R1200 GSW? Lots of info here, but it all seems to apply to non-water cooled models.

so the GS can be turned into a track machine with 4 parts and maybe 2 hours worth of work if you have a 2004-2008 GS then you can replace the stock shocks with ST stock shocks which will drop the bike about 3 inches and then replace both the front tire and rear tire with ST tires also. beware if you do this you will have to use the center stand. or you will have to cut and weld your side stand.

I found a set of 2005 ST shocks with 25,000 miles on them and front and rear wheels and tires all for less then 500$
