Saw a sign at RV this weekend that several of the main trails will be closed next weekend due to a mtn bike race. I would avoid the entire area as it will be a busy place.

I'll be out there two weekends in a row with both the mountain bike and moto. Sweet!

No, the race is this weekend. Fat Tire fest is the next weekend. Rabbit Valley doesn't get many riders from the Fat Tire Fest, they mostly go to the Loma trails area.

Hmm, sweet. Do they close trails for motorcycle hare scrambles?

Ummm, that's because you were blasting through there so fast that you couldn't have had time to read. I'm astounded you even recognized me. :rofl

This weekend will be busy out that way and there are some trail closures for the bike race. I would suggest avoiding the area, but you can call the BLM office if you would like a list of the specific trails that will be closed.

There are also links on the BLM site about other upcoming activities that you should check out before planning a trip in the area.

I think we just did that last month too. You might check out Snakebite 2010. The Bookcliff Rattlers do two races on BLM a year and the Snakebite just happened last month. It's a very similar setup to the mountain bike race.

Also, there was an OHV poker ride last weekend as well that was arranged by a local bike shop.

    Just letting you know.

I wish they would close the flippin' trails for the Rampart Poker Run.

Has anyone inquired about moto support for the races? I'm too far away, but sounds like a good time. Moto leads and support really make a good race into a great one.

Sorry, I missed your introduction. You say you are a BLMer? I don't know what that is? Would you please clarify? Are you a user? Or are you with an organization? Just curious?

Good point, he might harbor some resentment from the submariner adventures in Pole Creek. :rofl

Ahhh, my Beemer...I've spent more time riding Uli's bike than mine this year. Good to have such a friend, eh?! I'm really hoping to have it together by the end of the month. See you at Chickfest. :freaky

As it turned out, they could have used some moto support. They had an injury way out and had a really hard time getting to the person. Would be a good plan for next year, me thinks!
