Thanks for the Kind words, it is really satisfying to have comments posted like this (ask anyone who takes the time and efforts to do a RR).!!

Yes we can all do many things out of our comfort zone, it just takes dreaming it, then doing it. There are always choices to be made to do these things and not everyone wants or likes the same things in Adventure just like in life!!

Mark I really enjoyed reading about and seeing your Antartica pics. You have a gift for bringing us along for the ride the way you write up your RR. THANKS.
I've been wondering about your bike. After your motor problem in US have you had any other problems other then regular maintainance stuff ?
Has the quality of the gas in different countries been much of a problem ?
Any chance you'll be at Hell's Canyon this year? June 20-23 2013 are the dates.
Take care Radio and stay safe this coming year, rj in walla walla

    1) Bike has run well since AZ. Have done scheduled Maintenance and had to change chain and sprockets at 23,000 Miles.
(not including my two unplanned get offs :)

    2) I used Octane boost in Colombia and Bolivia but have not had any fuel related problems.

    3) Do not know about HellsCanyon.... Do not have a planned return date yet. Just have to see how money and timing works out.

    Happy New Year to you!

I don't want you to end your ride any earlier than you want to but selfishly I would like you to attend Hells Canyon. Some times it's difficult to want one thing for myself when that thing might not be what my friend wants.

Keep enjoying what you are doing and have a very Happy New Year.

Just a few quotes to start the year......

    8. Small acts of kindness can make the world a better place. – Smile at people who look like they are having a rough day. Be kind to them. Kindness is the only investment that never fails. And wherever there is a human being, there’s an opportunity for kindness. Learn to give, even if it’s just a smile, not because you have too much, but because you understand there are so many others who feel like they have nothing at all. Read Way of the Peaceful Warrior .

    9. Behind every beautiful life, there has been some kind of pain. – You fall, you rise, you make mistakes, you live, you learn. You’re human, not perfect. You’ve been hurt, but you’re alive. Think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, and to chase the things you love. Sometimes there is sadness in our journey, but there is also lots of beauty. We must keep putting one foot in front of the other even when we hurt, for we will never know what is waiting for us just around the bend.

I have always enjoyed simple quotes that clarify what is really important in our lives. I think about them, and try to use them to make the most out of the life that I have. Have been very blessed, even with some very difficult, painful and sad times in my life.

Being on the road has certainly made it clear that being kind and helping others (strangers or friends) makes a huge difference and all it takes is a little bit of action toward helping vs just doing your own thing. Was raised with this value but having been helped along in my journey by others is humbling but serves as a very important lesson to "just do it".

Happy New Year, Radioman! Thank you for putting so much time and effort in your RR. It's not just the pics of places you go to. It is also how those places affect you, change you, that makes this such a great trip to follow along.

    Stay safe, have fun.
